How the PGMOL works;
1. Ref makes shocking decision.
2. VAR hides behind technicalities to back shocking decision as mistake is 'not clear & obvious' in their eyes.
3. Fans are outraged.
4. Howard Webb makes some statement 'explaining' in jargon why said shocking decision was in fact the correct call. If no explanation is possible he falls back on the default response of 'the ref didn't want to ruin the game'.
5. Sky Sports pundits back PGMOL.
6. Fans even more outraged at the doubling down of a shocking decision.
7. An idiot makes a threat on social media towards the ref.
8. PGMOL release a statement to the media about said threat.
9. The deflection of the narrative garners sympathy and takes the heat off the PGMOL.
10. Refereeing standards in the Premier League continue to plummet.
11. Rinse and repeat...
