We have one!” guy standing in the background smiling on cue. Then the second you showed the smallest trace of independence and questioned that disgusting Obama monkey post, your own side turned on you like starving wolves. Suddenly the loyal house servant wasn’t loyal enough. Now you’re sitting in a car recording cellphone videos reminding the world that you’re still Black. Trust us, Senator — nobody forgot. The problem is that you spent so much time trying to convince other people that racism wasn’t real that now, when it smacks you directly in the face, you want sympathy from the same community you lectured for years. You defended the people stripping away protections for minorities, women, the poor, and working-class families. You stood beside people cheering the destruction of programs our grandparents marched, bled, and died for. And now you look shocked that the crowd you entertained never actually saw you as an equal. The Bible talks about the Prodigal Son returning home after losing everything. But the Prodigal Son came home humble. You spent years helping burn the house down. And now you’re politically homeless: too Black for the people you defended, too eager to defend them for the people you abandoned. That’s the tragedy of selling your dignity for a seat at a table that was never meant for you. Tim, you may be the PRODIGAL SON, BUT YOU CAN’T COME HOME." We saw it coming. He didn't want to.

You don’t get to smear your opponents, then lecture everyone else about dangerous rhetoric. I woke up expecting One Nation and Pauline Hanson to be blamed for yesterday’s attack on MP Helen Haines. The far-right labels. Social media being blamed. Another round of explaining why people like us are the problem. Some online commentators had already blamed Hanson. No established motive. No demonstrated One Nation connection. Just certainty. Yet this morning, there was an eerie silence from government and the media. Now ABC has confirmed that Brendan Nugent, the man arrested, previously campaigned against logging. Other reporting links him to an apparently pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel account that may belong to him. Progressive views. That doesn’t establish his motive. But where was that caution when people were blaming Hanson? It’s not just the rush to blame that worries me. It’s people so convinced of their moral superiority that they mistake prejudice for evidence. Those who blamed One Nation without evidence owe the public a correction. If you’re serious about dangerous rhetoric, start with your own accusations. My thoughts are with Helen and her family. I wish her strength and recovery.

I love seeing two men build a real life and start a family. Not the next Grindr hookup. Not the next orgy or the drugs that come with it. Just commitment, a home, and a child. True gay freedom is having the same ordinary life straight people have. This is what it looks like.

Statement from Senator Pauline Hanson, One Nation Leader: I am horrified and saddened that Helen Haines has been seriously injured in an attack outside her electorate office in Wangaratta today. My thoughts are with Helen, her family and her staff. I wish her a full and speedy recovery, and I know Australians everywhere are wishing the same. Police are investigating, and we should let them do their work. Violence against any elected representative, whoever they are and whatever they stand for, is never acceptable in Australia. Members of parliament and their staff must be able to serve their communities without fearing for their safety. I thank the emergency services and the members of the public who rushed to help.

Still won’t be vaccinating my kids. The morbidity data is unconvincing for healthy kids with adequate nutrition. My grandparents didn’t fear measles and I refuse to simply because of the govt and their decades-long propaganda campaign.
