Helping farmers helps Florida. Restoring critical roadways and resources for our agricultural partners is an essential step in keeping our supply chain thriving and products in the hands of consumers.
👨‍🌾 Disasters don’t just impact households. They also impact the farmers who keep Florida’s agriculture industry growing. Today, FDEM Executive Director Jared Perdue joined Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson to assess storm-related damage to local farms & agricultural operations. 🚜 From damaged crops & equipment to impacts on critical agricultural infrastructure, @FLSERT continues working alongside @FDACS to identify recovery needs & coordinate assistance for impacted farmers & ranchers. We’ll do whatever it takes to help Florida’s agricultural community recover & get back up & running. 🤝 🔗 Florida farmers in need of assistance can visit FDACS.gov for agricultural recovery resources & FloridaDisaster.org/Updates for additional disaster recovery information.

Attention Northwest Florida motorists: While the FDOT teams continue around the clock work to keep Hurricane Isaias recovery efforts moving, let’s keep them safe and help them get home to their families. Please remember to be alert, slow down, and give plenty of room to crews working on the roads clearing debris.

Ever wonder how all of that roadside debris disappears so quickly? Meet the FDOT grapple truck. With its hydraulic arm, it makes quick work of fallen tree limbs, storm debris, and downed trees.

Storm recovery also means looking out for our furry friends. While performing a bridge assessment drone mission in Okaloosa County for flooding of the Shoal River, our @MyFDOT_SEFL drone team spotted a baby white-tailed deer stranded in the flood water. We called our partners @MyFWC who assisted us in getting the deer to safety!

The FDOT team is always #ReadyToServe!
I’m not sure which is more impressive: rebuilding a bridge destroyed by Hurricane Ian in just THREE DAYS or rebuilding a road in ONE DAY, as @GovRonDeSantis and I just announced after #Isaias. Either way, Florida still holds the title for disaster preparedness and response.
