36 of 63 municipal candidates in Niagara-on-the-Lake, St. Catharines and Lincoln have signed the Migrant Worker Safety Pledge. Now they must act, no matter who wins the election.
Ontario must ensure safe housing, full labour protections and a coroner's inquest.
Ottawa must provide permanent resident status for all, end employer-tied work permits and enforce national housing standards.
Migrant workers have been demanding these changes for years. It's time governments listened.
