He stared straight through the lens, dying of cancer, watching his nation slip into the dark.
In one of his final interviews, the Shah of Iran issued a chilling warning to a naive Western world:
“Stop trying to ‘understand’ the radicals.
Stop trying to establish ‘dialogue’ with them.”
They mocked him. They lectured him on tolerance. They called his caution paranoia, convinced you could reason with fanatics who worship martyrdom.
Then the lights went out.
Modernity was ripped away overnight. Women were stripped of their autonomy. Dissent was met with the crane and the noose. Forty-six years of hostage-taking, terror, and crushed human potential followed—all because the free world mistook weakness for diplomacy.
He didn't just diagnose Iran’s demise. He predicted ours.
The Shah wasn't paranoid.
He was right.

Some people risk their lives to reclaim a country. Others risk arrest to acquire a handbag.
The comparison puts monthly earnings at $100 in Abdanan against $1,500 in France. Fifteen times the income. Apparently, dignity is sold separately.
In Abdanan, protesters scattered rice from an IRGC-linked store rather than carry it home. Their freedom could not be reduced to the price of dinner.
Poverty had not robbed those protesters of their dignity. In a far wealthier France, some looters apparently discovered liberty, equality and Louis Vuitton.
Civilisation is a habit, Mr Macron. A French address is merely a location. There is a difference between claiming the inheritance and displaying the character.
If anyone in Paris still wishes to examine whether Iranians are ready for democracy, perhaps they could begin by explaining their qualifications as examiners.
Spare us the fucking entrance exam.

This report raises serious concerns about the impartiality of the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in Iran @drmaisato. Her assessment appears to be shaped by a political and biased perspective, resulting in a distorted portrayal of the reality of human rights violations in Iran in favor of particular groups.
While reports and extensive visual evidence indicate that the Iranian regime’s crackdown on the January 2026 protests was the largest state-perpetrated massacre of the past century, Mai Sato’s reports and media activities have failed to adequately reflect the scale of the killings, mass arrests, torture, and subsequent executions. Yet, she has chosen to give particular prominence to cases that serve the narratives promoted by far-left groups.

For Kurds, Baluch, Ahwazi Arabs, Azerbaijani Turks and Turkmen, discrimination extends from restrictions on language rights to ethnic stereotyping in State media. Economic marginalization, land confiscation and environmental degradation have further deepened poverty in many minority regions. Many Baluch are denied a shenasnameh (identity booklet), limiting access to education, healthcare and formal employment. Kurdish kolbars and Baluch sukhtbars often rely on cross-border transport of goods and fuel for their livelihoods. Environmental mismanagement has displaced communities across minority regions, including Kurdish, Arab, Baluch, Turkmen and Gilak areas, while Azerbaijani Turks continue to experience the consequences of environmental degradation around Lake Urmia. Religious minorities face similar forms of exclusion. Baha'is are effectively barred from higher education and public employment and, like Christian converts, have long been portrayed as security threats. Sunni Muslims and Yarsan remain excluded from public office.
This broader context is essential to understanding death penalty cases involving minorities. Discrimination does not end at the gates of the criminal justice system; it can affect arrest, detention, trial and sentencing, including in capital cases.
Ethnic minorities facing capital charges often encounter additional barriers to a fair trial, including inadequate interpretation during interrogations and court proceedings, allegations of torture and other ill-treatment aimed at extracting confessions, and prosecutions on national security charges often unsupported by credible evidence.
The case of Farhad Baranzehi, a young Baluch man, reportedly sentenced to death for baghy without a lawyer present, raises concerns regarding allegations of torture and other serious fair trial violations. Hatem Özdemir, a Turkish national of Kurdish ethnicity, was reportedly denied interpretation during critical stages of proceedings that resulted in a death sentence for baghy. Yousef Ahmadi, a Kurdish man from Baneh, has alleged extremely violent torture and denial of medical care following his arrest. Similar concerns have been reported in the cases of Rauf Sheikh-Maroufi, Mohammad Faraji and Mohsen Eslamkhah, three Kurdish men sentenced to death in connection with the Woman, Life, Freedom protests. At the time of writing, none of these death sentences has been carried out, and the individuals concerned remain at imminent risk of executions.
Documented patterns of ethnic and religious discrimination, combined with recurring allegations of torture, coerced confessions and fair trial violations in individual cases, raise serious concerns about the application of the death penalty to minority groups in Iran. Capital cases already warrant the most exacting scrutiny under international human rights law. These factors demand compelling grounds for particularly rigorous scrutiny of capital cases involving members of ethnic and religious minorities.

Iranians warned that initiatives or communication lines setup by this charlatan were unsafe.
This is a threat of violence and intimidation of the public to influence the government for a political cause, and by definition, it is terrorism.
We still have too little data to determine whether the Iranians conducted this alleged operation.
But if it were, it fits a pattern in which we have seen Tehran expanding the theater of war to include all bases the US is using to strike at Iran - regardless of which country they are in.
It would also show that Tehran's capacity and willingness to counterescalate remain significant and, as a result, Trump's continued economic pressure on Iran, combined with an unwillingness to lift the blockade in return for Iranian concessions, is more likely to bring about a new round of war than a diplomatic breakthrough.
