The DMV basketball community has lost one of its all-time greats. Michael Sweetney was an absolute force at Oxon Hill, establishing himself as one of the best players to ever come out of the DMV. He went on to become a star at Georgetown, earning All-Big East honors and developing into one of the most dominant big men in college basketball. Sweetney was selected 9th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks and spent four seasons in the NBA. Long before all of that, though, he was a DMV legend.
