In DRC, the Ebola disease outbreak is far from over. The number of cases has now exceeded 10,000.  🎉 But last week, celebrations broke out at our Ebola treatment centre in Mongbwalu. For the first time since the outbreak was declared in May, the centre had no confirmed cases in beds, after its last patients were discharged, fully recovered.  Dozens of new cases are still being detected every day in other parts of the country. Our teams continue to work tirelessly, across six of the eight affected provinces, to contain the outbreak and save lives.

In Yemen, renewed military escalations have displaced more than 230,000 people. 🎥 At our mobile clinic in Al-Atira camp, we’re seeing an increase in malnutrition and various types of infection among displaced people, driven by poor living conditions:

Many cancer prevention, diagnostic, and treatment tools already exist — they’re just not available in low- and middle-income countries. Hear from our colleagues at the World Cancer Congress, where they shared the message that cancer treatment must be more affordable and accessible 👇

🎨 What do children in Gaza draw during mental health counselling sessions? Motassem drew “fetching water and the army throwing shells… and the tanks and the quadcopter drone…” Amid Israel’s genocide, the drawings of children reflect their psychological distress:

“It’s hot in here! 💦 But safety comes first.” When responding to Ebola, health workers must wear personal protective equipment - called PPE - to protect themselves and others from infection. These suits are vital, but they are also difficult to work in: they are hot, heavy, and limit the time during which teams can safely stay in contact with patients to one hour at a time. This is extremely challenging work for our teams. Hang in there, Dr Chopper! Follow Chopper’s journey and discover more about MSF’s humanitarian work 👉 msf.org/chopper #CHOPPERS_ONEPIECE #MSFxCHOPPER

💬 “We just want to go home. Back home, we will be able to find food…” In Busuma camp, Burundi, people who fled violence in DRC are living in difficult conditions. Despite the ongoing insecurity back home in DRC, many refugees say they would rather return than remain at Busuma camp:

Ten years ago, French police dismantled the ‘Jungle’ displacement camp in Calais, forcefully evacuating its communities. Today, these communities still need shelter and protection. Only now, they have to seek it in scattered areas, far from services and protection mechanisms.

❌ Cost ❌ Distance In Syria, these are two barriers that people face when seeking healthcare. By supporting more than 20 general healthcare centres across 10 governorates, we’re working to reduce them both:

🎥 “… I came to know that seeking help is not a weakness.” In Syria, years of war, displacement and uncertainty have had a lasting impact on people’s mental health. Three of our colleagues reflect on the stigma surrounding mental health and why asking for help matters:
