To all who are rationalizing the 40-50%+recent corrections in many names that were up 100-200-300%+ YTD, as "oh that makes sense, Leopold was blowing up", at least reflect on what MAY have been happening at Leopold's fund BEFORE he had a margin call when he was buying your longs

NBIS has two customers. One of them is getting blasted for buying their services. Think about that

SemiAnalysis puts cumulative AI capex (IT plus datacenter) at roughly $11.1 trillion from 2024 to 2029, with annual capex exceeding $2 trillion by 2028, and expects outstanding AI-related debt to reach about $7 trillion by 2029, second only to the US mortgage market

You just won a 2-week, all-expenses-paid vacation. But there’s a catch: you have to stay within one region the whole time. What region are you picking?

Arrêtez de payer pour Claude IA. L'IA de Mc Donald's est gratuite et répond à toutes les questions, même si elles ne sont pas sur le BIG MAC. :-) De rien.

Heads up for investment community- cybersecurity researchers and black hat bug bounty hunters are so far saying that published MYTHOS vulnerability finds so far are underwhelming. benign “null pointer deference” finds. worth monitoring (ofc subject to chg given pace of dev)
They spent $20k finding their bugs, while I spend less than $1000 on my fuzzing setup and found alot of the same bugs (several in their announcements i found and have in my 'to report' docs since they werent exploitable beyond DoS). i havent found 'thousands' but i have found nearly 1000 since December. And the VAST majority that have been found with AI and fuzzing are Null Ptr Derefs. and as mentioned, they are almost never exploitable on modern systems since memory at 0x0000000 cant be mapped to anything anymore. (it cant with like +8/16/32/64 offsets either, i forget what the first usable spot is but its not anywhere near a null ptr deref location). Mythos might be good at finding bugs, but it is not finding things that would set the internet on fire in most instances. im sure they found some nice bugs in their thousands, but most of them would be DoS impact at absolute most.

open source package security is no joke right now, scariest attack vector as per @karpathy Attacks like axios today is essentially a sales ad for $frog security products, namely “curation”, which is essentially a firewall that blocks the download of malicious packages
🚨 CRITICAL: Active supply chain attack on axios -- one of npm's most depended-on packages. The latest [email protected] now pulls in [email protected], a package that did not exist before today. This is a live compromise. This is textbook supply chain installer malware. axios has 100M+ weekly downloads. Every npm install pulling the latest version is potentially compromised right now. Socket AI analysis confirms this is malware. plain-crypto-js is an obfuscated dropper/loader that: • Deobfuscates embedded payloads and operational strings at runtime • Dynamically loads fs, os, and execSync to evade static analysis • Executes decoded shell commands • Stages and copies payload files into OS temp and Windows ProgramData directories • Deletes and renames artifacts post-execution to destroy forensic evidence If you use axios, pin your version immediately and audit your lockfiles. Do not upgrade.

You've seen the headlines about Iran not being interested in ceasefire talks. But there is a certain logic by which that means they are interested in ceasefire talks.

Thing is, there IS widespread acceleration in public SaaS today. Almost every company decelerates as they scale. That's the baseline. Given that, there's a remarkable amount of acceleration right now. More than any time but the pandemic. TBC, this is NOT driven by AI.
Unfortunately, so far, there is almost no evidence of this I wish there were If it were true, public B2B and SaaS companies would all be seeing growth re-accelerate

I kind of think that Harvard should just target 2% grade inflation per year forever, and start giving out letters above A. It's fine if the average GPA is a 7.0 at Harvard in 30 years, so long there's still variation and therefore signal.

You’re absolutely right — Andrew was fired by mistake. I couldn’t open the entire list. Would you like me to email Andrew and see if he’ll return?
Update: Block leadership informed me that my layoff was due to a clerical error. They offered me the opportunity to return, and I’ve accepted.

In 3 years from December 2019 to December 2022, Block $XYZ more than tripled its headcount from 3,900 to 12,500. Unwinding less than half an insane COVID overhiring binge has much more to do with Jack Dorsey's managerial incompetence than whether AI is going to take your job.
