Tasca Racing Friday Qualifying Recap – @NHRA #MidwestNats In Q1, @MQL_Racing Nitro Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car overpowered the hot track and smoked the tires around 300 feet, coasting to a 4.348 ET at 209.49 mph for a 13th spot in qualifying. Tasca Racing Qualifying Recap | @NHRA #BrainerdNats The @MQL_Racing Nitro Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car secured the No. 8 qualifying position at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals after four rounds of qualifying at @BIRrace. Tasca Racing’s weekend opened with a challenging first run on Friday, where the car overpowered the track past the 330-foot mark and coasted to a 5.658-second pass at 124.72 mph, placing him 13th. In the second session, the team rebounded with a critical full pull with an ET of 3.930 at 332.43 mph. That effort vaulted Tasca into the top four heading into Saturday. Saturday’s sessions brought mixed results. An aggressive setup in Q3 resulted in tire smoke at half-track, slowing the run to 4.758 seconds at 170.11 mph. In the final qualifying attempt, Tasca and his team showed progress in their effort to quicken the car to the 330-foot mark, running a 4.665 at 176.51 mph. While the run slowed on the back half, the team locked in the No. 8 qualifying spot. Tasca will face No. 9 qualifier @SCAGWilkerson in today’s opening round of eliminations, a rematch of their first-round matchup at the Sonoma Nationals two weeks earlier. “We’ve been focused on getting the car quicker to the 330-foot mark, and this run showed the progress we’ve made,” said Tasca. “We’ll make a few more adjustments before round one. Now it’s about bringing everything together.”

Tasca will face #8 qualifier Dan Wilkerson @SCAGWilkerson in Round One of eliminations. With two smooth A-to-B runs to close out qualifying, the team carries momentum and confidence into race day.

He skillfully corrected and kept it in the groove to post a clean A-to-B effort, landing 10th in the qualifying order after the first session. In Q2, Tasca launched strong again but encountered tire shake around the 660-foot mark and was forced to lift, coasting to a 4.390 at 201.52 mph. The early shutoff dropped the team one spot to 11th overall in qualifying heading into Saturday. With 18 Funny Cars on the property, the team has a solid foundation but will look to improve its position and consistency in the remaining sessions.
