The rich marine ecosystem surrounding Dyer Island, home to the Marine Big 5, is not currently a designated MPA. But it urgently needs protection. These waters support sharks, whales, dolphins, seals, and the critically endangered African penguin species that depend on healthy habitats to thrive.
