Thank you to all our volunteers and staff for braving the current extreme heat to serve our community. ☀️💧 Please remember to stay hydrated, limit time in the sun, and to check in on our vulnerable friends, family, and neighbors.

The need for Meals on Wheels is growing, and providers across the country are feeling the strain. In Santa Monica, @MOWWest waiting list is nearing 100 seniors as rising costs make it harder for them to reach every senior who needs them. spectrumlocalnews.com/ca/cal…

The waitlist we implemented last fall amid historic demand and high costs remains active. Neighbors, parents, and grandparents are waiting for meals and wellness checks. Donations are the best way to help us reach them - mealsonwheelswest.org/donate spectrumnews1.com/ca/la/huma…

Last Friday’s Meals on Wheels West ride‑along in Santa Monica reminded me how powerful small acts of kindness can be. It felt good to get out in the community, deliver meals, share smiles, and connect with neighbors who rely on this support. I’m grateful for the chance to help!

High temps anticipated this week. Stay safe: 💧 Hydrate, skip caffeine/alcohol/sugary drinks 🏠 Close blinds, use fans, know your cool-down spot 🐾 Never leave pets in cars 🌡️ Watch for dizziness/confusion = heat emergency 🧡 Check on elderly neighbors. Stay safe, Santa Monica!

We have a critical need this July. Our seniors on the Westside need 11,000+ meals, and we're calling on our community to show their support. Every gift means an elderly homebound neighbor can eat and be checked on. Visit the link in our bio or mealsonwheelswest.org/july to help.

The best part of the delivery? The moments like this. Meals are the foundation, but the connections are what makes it special. ☀️ #DeliveringMoreThanaMeal #MealsOnWheels

That day is what we celebrate on #Juneteenth, a day to recognize the past and celebrate resilience now and towards the future.
