I appealed to the Secretary General of the Commonwealth to make representations to the government of Pakistan on behalf of @ImranKhanPTI .
I said “The Commonwealth Charter commits its members to democracy, human rights, the rule of law, good
governance and the separation of powers. Those principles have meaning only if the Commonwealth is prepared to defend them when they come under serious pressure within a member state.”
My original letter is in the next post. Here is the response I received.
As a former Minister for the Commonwealth, I recognise this for what it is- code for saying “we are doing absolutely nothing”.
It is, frankly, a disgrace.

"The Pakistani establishment have yet to alleviate any of our father’s conditions or listen to any court orders, such as a phone call at the very least. We want a heath checkup and a report we can see. An unbiased report through which we can verify his conditions." - @Kasim_Khan_1999

The Defence Minister is right. It’s why I have never been considered Jewish by the Jewish community. My mother was a Church of England Protestant. And by this logic, my father was not Jewish either. His mother was a French Catholic. As ever, in attempting to undermine my sons, Pakistan’s Defence Minister has scored an embarrassing own goal.

“Imran Khan is not in jail, in solitary confinement for more than three years now because of any corruption or crime. It is because the Pakistani Generals know that if they let him out, he will be carried aloft in the next election on a wave of support to a democratic victory.”- Former British Prime Minister @BorisJohnson

These buffoons can’t help making blunder after after blunder. According to this logic, neither my mother, nor her parents are Jewish… Incredible levels of stupidity.
In mainstream Judaism, Jewish identity is passed through the mother — matrilineal descent. If your mother is Jewish, you are Jewish, regardless of your father's religion. In the Jewish tradition, maternity is a biological certainty whereas paternity is a matter of chance. This rule was established when DNA testing was not known to mankind.

“Where is the humanity in not allowing someone to receive basic health checks or treatment? It’s the pettiness, the petty torture techniques, not allowing him to have books, phone calls with his children, keeping him for 23 hours in an isolated cell. If they reject any claims of mistreatment, prove it. Bring him to an unbiased doctor and hospital, and show the medical reports.”
