The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis joins @ULSTL the City of Dellwood and our entire region in mourning the passing of Mayor Reggie Jones, a dedicated public servant, passionate community advocate, and trusted partner in our efforts to strengthen North St. Louis County. He was also a dear friend and true partner in helping make North City and County better personally and professionally.
Mayor Jones loved Dellwood and devoted himself to improving the lives of its residents. He was an excellent Mayor! Through some of our region’s most challenging moments, he remained committed to rebuilding, restoring hope, and creating greater opportunities for the families and businesses he served.
I had the privilege of working alongside Mayor Jones on several important initiatives throughout the Ferguson–Dellwood corridor, including the Urban League Senior Living Center, which opened in 2024 and provides 44 quality housing units for seniors, and Urban League Plaza, now under construction along West Florissant Avenue. These projects reflect a vision Mayor Jones and I shared: that Dellwood, Ferguson and North County deserve meaningful investment, quality housing and continued progress. The seniors LOVED him as he made regular visits to our building.
Mayor Jones understood that rebuilding a community requires more than new buildings. It requires leadership, partnership, and an unwavering belief in the people who call that community home. He brought that belief to everything he did, whether advocating for seniors, supporting young people, or working to ensure Dellwood continued to move forward.
His legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the progress he championed, and the community he served with such pride and dedication.
On behalf of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, I extend our deepest condolences and prayers to Mayor Jones’s family, friends, and colleagues, as well as to the entire City of Dellwood. #ReggieJones #MayorReggieJones #Dellwood #ULSTL #UrbanLeague
THANK YOU, ST. LOUIS!
The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis @ULSTL concluded this year’s Urban Expo with a powerful day of community, wellness, resources and family fun. Throughout our Urban Expo events, we served thousands of individuals and families from across the region.
The Community Empowerment Festival welcomed families to the UL Headquarters for free book bags and school supplies, back-to-school physicals, immunizations, health screenings, dental services, financial and homeownership education, utility assistance, tornado disaster relief, haircuts, workshops, food, toys, prizes, children’s activities and much more. We also held the Urban League Young Professionals’ Next Generation Walk and the Save Our Sisters Maternal Health Expo, expanding the day’s focus on health, connection and empowerment.
These services remain especially important as many families continue recovering from the May 2025 tornado, including individuals still living in hotels, waiting for home repairs or navigating insurance challenges. The Urban League remains committed to helping our community recover, rebuild and move forward!
A special thank you to our generous sponsors, Board of Directors, staff and volunteers whose dedication made Urban Expo 2026 possible. Because of your support, thousands of people were connected with resources that will continue making a difference long after the event.

Today marks 13 years since I began serving as President and CEO of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis @ULSTL.
The past 13 years have been filled with tremendous growth, historic milestones and unprecedented challenges. Through it all, our mission has remained the same: Empowering Communities and Changing Lives throughout the St. Louis region!
I am incredibly grateful to our Board of Directors, 300 dedicated staff members, volunteers, partners, donors and supporters who have stood with us and helped make this work possible. I also extend my sincere appreciation to @MARCMORIAL and the The @NatUrbanLeague for their continued leadership, partnership and support throughout my tenure.
Most importantly, I thank the 225,000 individuals and families who trust us to serve them every day.
It remains one of the greatest honors of my life to lead this organization. There is still much more work to be done, and I look forward to continuing that work together! Our best days are ahead of us! #ULSTL #UrbanLeague #NationalUrbanLeague #StLouis
It was an honor to once again welcome our The National Urban League President & CEO, @MARCMORIAL, to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis @ULSTL along with NUL SVP @rspearsbell and other members of the leadership team.
Marc shared inspiring words with a packed room, reminding us of the power of leadership, service, and collective action to strengthen our communities and expand opportunities for all. His message of hope, resilience, and empowerment resonated deeply with everyone in attendance and reinforced the importance of the work we do together every day.
We were proud to present our @NatUrbanLeague CEO with the Drum Major for Justice Award for his tireless efforts across America to make the Urban League Movement even more relevant now and expand our reach and services across this country.
The evening was made even more special by the incredible Denise Thimes, who captivated the audience with a beautiful acappella performance that brought warmth, inspiration, and elegance to the gathering.
I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our dedicated staff, Board of Directors, elected officials, community partners, and supporters who joined us for this memorable occasion. Your presence and continued commitment to our mission helped make this a truly meaningful event.
Together, we continue to build on a legacy of leadership, service, and impact as we work to empower communities and change lives throughout the St. Louis region. #NUL #ULSTL #NationalUrbanLeague #UrbanLeagueOfMetropolitanStLouis #MarcHMorial #stlmade

The @ULSTL Urban League, RBC and our community partners came together for “A Weekend of Service” to support families and neighborhoods still recovering from the May 2025 tornado.
Together, we rehabbed homes, demolished buildings, helped remove debris, clear lots, connect residents to jobs and resources, distributed essential supplies, and deliver food and resources to homes supporting elderly and disabled residents in tornado-damaged neighborhoods.
Almost 2,000 people attended the Save Our Sons + Sisters Hiring & Resource Fair, and thousands of families were served during our largest community distribution ever! Over $1,000,000 ONE MILLION DOLLARS in resources were infused into the community during this effort!
