While we wait for the $HGRAF redomicile process to play out and hopefully open the door to the next wave of major catalysts, this is one hell of a “filler” development. A newly published peer-reviewed Nanoscale study used HydroGraph-produced graphene in MOF/graphene nanocomposites, with HydroGraph scientists directly involved in designing and synthesizing the graphene substrate. Most importantly, the research was funded by the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) under TWO grants, and the paper specifically discusses the potential for improved chemical warfare agent (CWA) degradation. This isn’t just “graphene could someday have defense applications.” It’s U.S. defense-funded research, HydroGraph material, HydroGraph personnel, and a technology directly relevant to countering chemical threats. Even better, the entire focus is on scalability. The researchers developed a continuous-flow process that produces the MOF/graphene composite in ~1.2 minutes, and explicitly note that HydroGraph already produces the underlying graphene aggregates at scale. That fits awfully well with HG’s increasingly public push into U.S. federal and defense markets and domestic strategic-material supply. No, this isn’t a DoD purchase order. But it’s another pretty substantial breadcrumb showing where this technology is heading and who is paying attention.
