So well deserved. Freddy has been an extraordinary mentor — generous with his time, his ideas, and his belief in the people around him. Honored to learn from and work alongside him. One million congratulations to @dr_fcalderaibd 🎉🎉🎉
1/ Big month. Yesterday I had the honor of being invested as the Yehle Family Professor in IBD Research at @uwsmph alongside being promoted to Professor of Medicine. A surreal night, still sinking in. A short thread on what it means. @uw_medicine @uw_GIHep

Are your patients with IBD asking about monkeypox vaccine? Read our summary in @IBDJournals, and remember:
💉immunosuppressed status alone ≠ need for monkeypox vaccine
💉when indicated, JYNNEOS vaccine is safe in the immunosuppressed

We should not forget about patients with inflammatory bowel disease who received a COVID-19 viral vector vaccine pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3543…
Combination therapy is used commonly with vedolizumab and ustekinumab! For ustekinumab, maybe just as commonly as combo with anti-TNF. We need more prospective studies on efficacy and safety of this practice. Read more here: healio.com/news/gastroentero… @dr_fcalderaibd @EdBarnesMD
