We are deeply saddened by the passing of Red Sox Hall of Famer Mike Greenwell.
“The Gator” spent his entire career in a Red Sox uniform and was a beloved fixture of Fenway and Fort Myers. He gave so much to Lee County and Sox Nation.
We send our love to the Greenwell family.

That is literally not how it works. You should probably read the underlying documents. The league is bound to their own policy. The policy only requires that a woman declare herself a woman. Then there’s this (mostly unrelated). His point: DEFINE WHAT A WOMAN IS.

Think about it. With rare exception (MLB, NHL), players are farther from the top level of play than in any other sport, right? NFL guys go right to the NFL, the NBA brings kids right from HS!!! In MLB and the NHL, the athletes, with rare exception, are so far from the speed and mental wherewithal needed to succeed at the highest level that it usually takes YEARS. In one sport there are guys who are legitimately as talented as NBA players IN HIGH SCHOOL! No one has ever done that with even remote success in baseball and VERY few do it from college. It's one of the things that breaking baseball now too, the truncated minor league service to rush guys to the big leagues is absolutely ruining what could be generational talent for the quick return.

I can't stop thinking about this.
I've probably gone back to look at it 100 times...
I've thought at MANY points in the past year about deleting this account. I've talked about it with close friends often.
The question kept coming up: "Is it worth it?"
Is it worth being swatted?
Losing friends?
Getting harassed?
All the hate and anger?
What about my the effect on my kids?
That question... "is it worth it?" has been one I've wrestled with for nearly a year.
But it's the wrong question.
The question is not "is it worth it?"... the real question is:
"Are you doing something worth that is worth it?"
And to be honest, I don't know if I always have this past year..,
But I'm trying.
And I SO BADLY want to try harder.
So, I will live up to this statement I made to Charlie.
I will not be passive.
I will not be quiet.
I will make a difference.
I will do hard things.
I will try harder.
