This American Veteran stands today, and every day, with his Canadian Forces friends and all those affected by the tragedy at CFB Wainwright.

From Oro Medonte Mayoral Candidate Cathy Keane
A PERSONAL UPDATE
Overnight, our family received the devastating news that our eldest son is among the military personnel critically injured in the incident in Wainwright, Alberta, on Saturday.
As a mother, right now I need to be with my son and family. I will be travelling to Alberta and unable to continue door-knocking for the remainder of the mayoral campaign. Please share the pinned post with my information with your neighbours, friends and your community.
I want residents to know that I am still in the race for Mayor of Oro-Medonte, and I stand by my commitment to our friends, families and neighbours more than ever. My belief in this community and the future we can build together has not changed.
For those who have not yet had the opportunity to speak with me or learn more about my platform, I am pinning copies of my campaign rack card and informational sheets to the top of my Facebook Page. I hope these materials will help residents understand my priorities and the commitments I have made to our township as online voting continues.
Right now, I ask for your understanding as our family navigates an incredibly difficult and uncertain time. We are grateful for the kindness and support of our friends and community.
Please hold your loved ones a little tighter tonight. ❤️
Prayers for all those involved in whatever took place at CFB Wainwright tonight in Alberta. There are unconfirmed reports of an explosion, followed by a major fire that has entered the town of Wainwright. – at Angier, NC
A serious incident creating a major fire has occurred at CFB Wainwright, in Alberta.
Our thoughts are with all the brave women and men affected.
We are working closely with the Government of Alberta and local authorities. Premier Smith and I are in close contact as are our relevant ministers and officials.

I'll be at the Cartier Square Drill Hall in #Ottawa on Friday to pick up my #Canada Army Run race kit (and to spend the day with the camera and seeing what I can see). In the interest of being healthy and ready for my race, what does everyone think, @BeaverTails for lunch?
Something to remember as we approach this holiday weekend - statistically, according to ABC News, you are more likely to be killed by your toaster than you are to be attacked by a shark.
What do I take away from this? I'm not sure, but I'm staying the hell away from the toaster. – at Smithfield, NC
I thank you all so much and I'll do my best to make you proud.
And if you'd like to donate, there's still time. A couple of weeks until Ottawa.

25 days until the 2026 Canada Army Run and every step of my practice here in North Carolina, and every step of my 10K in Ottawa I'll carry this 1917 Canadian cent.
It's old and worn but, well, so am I.
Probably not a lot of these delivered in North Carolina, but I'll *always* support my friends. @RoyalCdnLegion

45 days from today I'll be in Ottawa to take part in a 10K at the 2026 Canada Army Run. We support our friends and those who have always supported us - and that's why I'm participating (even though I'm the opposite of a runner, or, well, technically even Canadian.)

I'm proud, and thankful to all those who donated, to have raised over $500 - *so far* - that'll go to supporting Canadian Servicemembers and Veterans through Support Our Troops and Soldier On, the official charitable causes of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Whether you're Canadian, American or from anywhere else, I'd love to have your support.
