Liquid Network's reserves just got drained for 4000 BTC due to an inflation bug in confidential transaction validation caching.
each LBTC coin is now backed by only ~4.7% of a real Bitcoin.
We are aware of a security incident on @Liquid_BTC. Purported white-hat hackers have withdrawn ~4,000 BTC (~$320 million) from the Liquid Federation wallet. The @Blockstream team is working on contacting them on-chain with a signed message.
What we know so far is that the funds were withdrawn via the SideSwap PAK (Peg-out Authorization Key), but that key was not compromised, nor were any others.
Exchanges have been notified and have already paused (or will pause) LBTC deposits and withdrawals. Other Liquid assets such as USDT, DePix, and RWAs are unaffected by this security incident.
Bridge nodes have been temporarily disabled, so no new transactions can be submitted to the network. Effectively, the Liquid sidechain is paused until this issue is resolved.
Liquid wallets will be impacted, and we're sorry for any inconvenience. Federation members are actively working on resolving this so we can restore normal network activity.
You can monitor the situation via @mempool's liquid.network site below:

Hope I’m not projecting here, but i think deep down, what individuals truly desire the most, is to be understood and accepted to the fullest extent one can possibly be.

⚠️AI CREDIT IS STARTING TO FLASH RED while equities are still ignoring the risks:
The price paid for AI usage is falling rapidly, with Silicon Data’s LLM Token Expenditure Index down -29% in August to a record low ~$0.97 per million tokens.
This is down more than -50% from its May peak near $2.05.
This comes even as OpenRouter token volume rose ~47% MoM in August, while dollar spending increased only ~7%, showing that AI usage is growing far faster than spending.
Meanwhile, hyperscaler credit spreads have surged to near their widest levels on record, even as hyperscaler stocks have rebounded since late July.
In other words, credit investors are demanding significantly more compensation for AI infrastructure risk, while equity investors are still pricing in relentless demand and rising returns.
The problem is that more AI usage does not automatically mean more profits if token prices collapse faster than volumes rise.
With hundreds of billions of dollars being poured into data centers, falling usage prices could put pressure on utilization, cash flows, and returns on all that new capacity.
The AI boom may still be growing in volume, but credit markets are increasingly questioning whether it is growing profitably.

🚨 HUGE NEWS: Claude now embeds an invisible watermark into every piece of text it generates.
Anthropic just documented how it works. Two marks, both machine-readable:
> Text: an imperceptible watermark woven into the words themselves. You can’t see it, and it doesn’t change meaning, quality, or readability.
> Files (.svg, .png, .jpg): signed provenance metadata on the C2PA open standard, so you can tell if a file’s been tampered with.
The watermark is applied at the model level.
That means it shows up no matter where the text comes from: the API, Claude, Claude Code, Cowork, Claude Tag, and even when a supported model runs through AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Foundry.
Models launched on or after August 2, 2026 mark from day one. Older models are getting it during a transition period.
Every sentence Claude writes for you now carries a signature you’ll never see.

BITCOIN RED TEAM FILES NEARLY 5,000 SECURITY FINDINGS ACROSS 390 PROJECTS IN FIRST 30 HOURS
Bitcoin Red Team member @callebtc says the group has grown to 16 researchers operating around the clock, filing 4,962 security findings across 390 Bitcoin-related projects in its first 30 hours.
The campaign has identified 85 critical and 635 high-severity vulnerabilities, averaging 166 findings per hour and 2.31 high-or-critical issues per researcher per hour.
Red Team member @Rob1Ham says the operation has now spent nearly $40,000 on AI-powered security analysis, with funding provided by OpenSats.
He said researchers are rapidly improving their AI harnesses through developer feedback, allowing models to uncover increasingly severe vulnerabilities, while the team’s focus is shifting toward faster disclosure coordination and scaling operations.
Bitcoin Red Team update: we've grown to 16 globally distributed people working 24/7
We're running a large-scale ecosystem security audit across bitcoin code bases.

‼️ BREAKING: An active npm supply chain attack has compromised at least 868 packages carrying over 2 billion monthly installs with a credential-stealing worm. Shai-Hulud is back.
It started with the compromise of the GitHub account of the maintainer behind keyv, a library with roughly 127 million weekly npm downloads.
A preinstall hook fires on npm install and drops a stealer that sweeps npm, GitHub, AWS, Kubernetes and Vault secrets, and then spreads to more maintainers.
