🧨Happy #ChineseNewYear & #YearoftheSnake!
In Chinese culture, snake is a symbol of wisdom and strength. May this new year bring you good fortune, health, and happiness. And cheers to a year that’s as fabulous as our slithery friend.🐍
Last week I presented to 50+ students about SLT and pathways into qualifying. There weren't many who knew we existed, but hopefully now they can understand how much of an impact we can make across all walks of life and consider the career. 🤝🏽

team, 🫶🏽
I spent my afternoon with our amazing SLTs at their VF clinic. I was blown away and felt incredibly proud of what they have achieved as a team. I learnt a lot today through discussions. What a lovely end to the week ☺️@racheldcollins @MoniqueHinds11 @MK_SLT @justinroe @RCSLT
Since when does 'ethnicity' also mean 'nationality?' @The_HCPC 🤔🙄

If true, this is shocking & deeply disturbing to all Black and Brown SLTs. There needs to be an official statement on this especially at a time when Asian and Black people are getting attacked on the streets of the UK. How can minorities trust the anti racist work of RCSLT now?
Quite shocked about seeing the CEO of @RCSLT following the leading figure of right-wing ideology in the UK! #TommyRobinson #RacistRiots #Islamophobia

Today marks what would have been Chris Kaba’s 26th Birthday.
Chris was tragically shot and killed by Met Police officer Martyn Blake in September 2022.
Rest in peace young King. My thoughts go out to Chris Kaba’s family and the unimaginable pain they are living with.
Today is my 1 year Head & Neck SLT career birthday!! Marked with a delicious Cuthbert which I'm so happy about thanks to my thoughtful supervisor @MoniqueHinds11 @AldiUK 🐛🤤 (better than Colin)
Top turnout from the Mount Vernon HNC team at @BAHNOOfficial! Proud to represent AHPs here with @sophie_schogger @MoniqueHinds11 @RCSLT
A great opportunity to attend the International Centre for Recurrent Head and Neck Cancer conference this week with two SLTs who inspire me the most, 🧠 Lots to take back and consider, 📚 @justinroe @MoniqueHinds11 @IReC_RM @RCSLT

Can't forget that 6 months later after holding my belongings they unexpectedly posted them back with my favourite work mug gifted from a previous supervisor ✨smashed✨ 🥲 worst team ever, worst Trust ever.

Thanks @LaurenGriffinRD for our fantastic laxative tutorial this morning it was great 💩💩@MoniqueHinds11 @MK_SLT
A year on from leaving my old job up North and still having nightmares of the racist team, the office, the wards. Been quiet in my anti racist journey as an SLT in the NHS since, just trying looking after myself and patients first.

Attending the Northwick Park Head and Neck study day with @MK_SLT . Lots of interesting talks and learning 🤓
Get a supervisor who can do both! 🧠🎃 Almost 6 months into my first Head+Neck Cancer role and thankful every day I can learn from this one. Wish we could do MDT meetings like this every week! @MoniqueHinds11 @RCSLT

Cont'd...Two patients with recurrent disease given the same options (curative surgery vs palliative immunotherapy). Similar functional outcomes but patient 1 travelling & enjoying life. Patient 2 becoming more poorly and in pain #AdvancesinHeadandNeckCancerTreatment #Marsden

Grainne Brady discussed being mindful about MDT decision making in the context of recurrent disease. Should we as professionals be gate keeping decisions or should we involve pts in the process & discuss potential treatment options #AdvancesinHeadandNeckCancerTreatment #Marsden
