Delighted to see Pump It Up @ElvisCostello being used as the closing credits to The Open Golf tv coverage today! Even Tommy our parrot was impressed!👍🏻🦜
Superb!!!👏🏻🤣
This is great.
During the 1976 Open, players used the Royal Birkdale clubhouse and locker room.
The club had a match against Formby the following week and posted their team on the notice board outside the locker room.
Tom Watson (then Open champion) wrote "Reserves" on the sheet and added his name.
Throughout the week more and more players added their name the reserves list: Nicklaus, Seve, Miller, Bobby Locke, Dai Rees.
The club framed the sheet and it remains in the locker room at Royal Birkdale.
