Former DEVGRU (SEAL Team 6) operator Mike Sarraille didn’t take the easy road. He enlisted in the Marine Corps, earned his place as a Recon Marine and Scout Sniper, then commissioned through the Navy and completed BUD/S. He landed in SEAL Team 3 with Task Unit Bruiser, the most decorated special operations task unit of the Iraq War, and led combat operations through the Battle of Ramadi in 2006 and the Battle of Sadr City in 2008. He later was selected for DEVGRU, joining Gold Squadron. Ten combat deployments later, he came home with a Silver Star, six Bronze Stars, and numerous other awards. He was also there the day Michael Monsoor jumped on a grenade. That moment, standing feet away from a teammate who gave everything so others could live, is the kind of story that never leaves a person. Sarraille carried it forward the way operators do: by leading, by teaching the next generation of officers, and later by translating those lessons into business. After 20 years in special operations he founded Talent War Group, built it into a leadership and executive search firm that was acquired, and now serves as Chief Talent Officer at Overwatch Mission Critical.
