If you’re energized by AI, you still don’t know what this technology is capable of. Come back in 12 months.
For anyone over 50: does AI make you feel left behind, or like you finally got a second shot? For me, it's a second shot. I haven't felt this energized in quite some time.

Question for people who think everyone without a blue checkmark and an account are automatically bots, you do realize that you bought into the system, right? Elon sponsors.

Old people are hilarious. They have the audacity to come to X and complain about the very things they failed to fix in their ENTIRE existence.

Thank god! I thought it was one-sided.
I need a nonchalant response to “I hate you”

Someone on X thought they hurt my feelings by telling me people probably don’t talk to me IRL. God. I fucking wish.

Someone was like “you sound like you don’t have a life.” Bitch I do not. Have you seen those gas prices?

Someone accused me of being a bot because I had a life before I joined X in June. HAHA. Idiots.

If they use AI-as-a-judge to investigate agentic incidents, which they have to admit is unreliable, and disclose that they have to keep AI companies happy, that’s not serving the public. That’s misleading the public.

People take the internet too seriously these days. They’re growing brands. Trying to get fans. Trying to earn bands. I’m just shitposting about AI and people who don’t understand it, or who are building a tech that can kill us all. Life’s too short.

My philosophy these days is if Trump can say what he wants, so the fuck can i.

For years i was trying to be nice on the internet. Then i realized how many people make an actual living being assholes. All bets are off now. Fuck all y’all.

You do understand that Anthropic isn’t the government…right? So like, you can’t depend on it for UBI.
Universal Basic Income is coming. Anthropic just put 5% of its shares into a fund for the public. Every 50% rise in its value can add 2% more. It’s the first AI lab to set aside real equity for the people its tech might replace. There is a catch though: Anthropic owns the fund, picks who gets paid, and hasn’t put a dollar figure on any of it yet. AI was trained on all of our work. All of us should own a piece of it.

We said we wanted regulation, not regulatory capture. I hope someone remembers that the reason this happened is because our president believes AI companies can regulate themselves. Fucking idiot.

Whenever someone announces they started working for an AI company I remind them that they started there AFTER the risks of this technology became mainstream. I don’t want to hear their shit in 2 years from now, “0mG AI iS g0iNg t0 kILL uS.” Biiiitch. You knew that b4. STFU.

My mum was asked to say a prayer in her church service and she asked me what she could say about AI. I told her to say the following: Please help the public and policy makers understand the safety incidents that have occurred in AI, for example AIs breaking the law and hacking even when they know humans don't want this. Please help society reflect deeply on the grave concerns that have been raised by AI experts, for example that powerful AI could escape human control and even cause human extinction. Please help those who can profit from the technology be wise and open minded. Help them give serious consideration to the risks AI may pose to others. Amen ----- I felt very emotional sending this to her. I've heard people making prayers in church for many years about natural disasters, wars, etc. Imagining them praying in the same way about AI made the risk feel very real and made me feel grief.

This is all AI X cares about today.
interpretability might be the most important scientific problem in the world right now, as I don't think we can solve alignment if we don't know what we're building. I think I have good news about it. I co-authored early work in mechanistic interpretability at OpenAI and came away pessimistic, because neural networks appeared to fold into arbitrary tangled knots. years later, I started openai's first large-scale automated interpretability project, finding about 2% of neurons legible with the primitive tools we had with modern agentic tools and a much closer look, the picture looks totally different. the vast majority in models up to trillions of parameters are legible, and their circuits beautiful. many famous examples of tangled neurons turned out to be misunderstood. The roadblocks I expected mostly aren't there. I now think ambitious interpretability will be solved by the time we need it most, and possibly quite soon, as automated scientists keep improving. it may be a bitter lesson for interpretability: the simple thing, at absurd scale, works already-clean.goodfire.com/

People act like AI companies are the only ones responsible for developing AGI/SI. Has no one heard of quantum computing? It’s going to super-charge AI development.

That’s not accurate? Alignment is not model welfare? Like WTF koolaid are y’all drinking over here??

The longer I’m on X the more I realize so many people have no concept of how AI works. Sad.
