In about one month, we will be welcoming 2027s for REX (Residence Exploration), a four day experience for first years to find their future home on campus. MIT DormCon is an elected student body that represents dorm residents and puts on awesome things like REX! #mit2027 #rex2023

As always, our plans may change as we hear more from other students about what they want to see us work on. But DormCon will always be committed to supporting dorms and advocating for the needs of dorm residents. 8/8

There's also a number of projects we'll continue to work on this upcoming year. This includes more discussion about paying RACs for the work that they do, new meal plans this Fall, and the mural pilot program to let students paint murals in dorms where they can't currently. 7/

Right now, we're focused on trying to make SophREX happen. We've heard from the 2024s that they'd be interested in coming back early for REX and FYRE and we're working hard to make that a reality 6/

On the dining side, our chairs have been working on a number of issues such as food insecurity and sustainability in dining halls. This year in particular they've worked hard to follow up on student feedback with MIT Dining, Bon Appetit, and Restaurant Associates. 5/

This never really stopped - throughout the year we've updated these policies to open gyms, kitchens, and common areas for pods to use together And while we're on the subject - our housing chairs were instrumental in developing the pod program for this year 4/

Once we knew the 2024s weren't going to be on campus in the Fall of 2020 our CPW/REX chairs created and ran SCUFFY as a way to connect first years with dorm communities virtually 2/

exec consensus tonight was that EC and Baker are strong contenders for winning the dorm war. that said, BC is still a threat, Raúl may be a force to be reckoned with, and it's never too late for a Bexley comeback
We're having office hours tonight 7pm-7:30 to answer any and all of your questions about DormCon exec before elections next Monday! what's it like being dining chair? why is your mascot a shark? if all the dorms went to war, who would win? ask us tonight and you might find out.
