Agreed. Difficult to have credibility where there are still examples of poor care. It's not universal, but it's certainly not rare, and it is an embarassment to the reputation of the profession. It's a wicked problem with many interlinked factors. We can't hide from this.

The greatest problem with mh nursing is nurses abusiveness towards patients framed as PD and the use of PD as a lazy or reprisal label to give a veneer of respectability to neglect and contempt. MH nursing doesn't have credibility while it gives a home to overt hatred of patients
