Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance won't add a 15th weapon type. CAPCOM says it couldn't find a weapon with a unique enough playstyle. Instead, the 2027 expansion will improve all 14 existing weapons with new moves and adjustments, some of which will be available for free.
