A novelist, a flash fiction writer & a CNF writer walk into a bar.
Novelist: I haven't had a drink since that one night long ago.
FFW: Drinks drink me.
CNFW: My father drank. Then he beat me with inflated balloons.
Bartender: None of you have any money, get out.

I don't know how it happened, and I'm still chasing leads and sniffing out clues, but my prose-poem-thing "The Secret Life of What is Past" was published this morning by the kind editors at @NewWorldWriting, and I think my aorta is about to pop!

Witty, satirical, and really good. Makes you laugh… and think.
Thanks, @travis_shosa, this story had to be told. Heroes put on their trousers one or two legs at a time, just like we normies do, but their feelings matter, too: arrogance, insecurity, a love of low-level criminality, etc. So, let's spare a kind thought for the moderately-super!

Today on Dodo Eraser, we’ve got some funny new flash about being a “bonus person” from @MGSatMGScom. Please take some time to read “Mr. Different-Size Man, That’s Who.”

I will hold this brilliance by @MGSatMGScom in the forefront of my mind as I fire up my laptop and log on (13 minutes late) for another day of corporate buffoonery! 👏🏻 💙
I hope you'll take a look at my story-thing "Disemployment Guidelines" even though the piece was banned by the Pulitzer committee for "gross and repeated affronts to literature" & "please stop following us home." It's up at Flight: A Literary Sampler.

This platform's traffic has dwindled until it's like a train station at 4am. I'm the puffy-jacketed guy who wanders between the benches & rants about lost loves & the high price of ice cream. Here's one of that guy's stories from the @Ellipsis_Zine vault:

“Don't attempt to contact Human Resources. We know you want something. We'll be in touch. No, we won’t.” Check out this piece from MGS. It’s biting, witty, and, above all, very good.

The asphalt was soft under my shoes. Insects were dying, cooked alive beyond the shadows of parked cars.
“Ra,” the cop said, pointing to the sky.

Back from a hiatus, @Ellipsis_Zine is gradually re-posting archived stories. This one of mine from 2023 is possibly the most important work of fiction you'll read this week. It's a dramatic workplace drama filled with drama and snappy claw-hands.

This one from @Annalou8 is beautiful and sad and beautiful. David Henson is a flash master.

Do I write too many stories about the sky? Am I obsessed with the Sun, Moon, and stars? Do I know why? Yes, yes, and no. We can't pick our compulsions. The resurgent @Ellipsis_Zine indulged me in 2020 and has now brought back "Pat's Unlikely Star."
