What a thrill it was for all of us that make up the MavsTV team to broadcast many of the special moments that were part of Cooper Flagg’s NBA Rookie of the Year season!
If you wanna savor the flavor of some fun times, a mix of our favorite MavsTV Cooper highlights are here.
Poster dunks, drives and contested jumpers against top defenders, records set, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. He did it all and the overall game you see here is a big reason why he won!
Just an all-time day/night of watching college football. And technically still not over…I mean New Mexico at Hawaii, why not!
The final preseason game tonight for the Mavs host the Hawks at 7p.
TV: KFAA29
Streaming: MavsTV+
Starting for Dallas: Kyrie, Coop, PJ, Gafford, Risacher
Available for first time in preseason - Marcus Sasser, and 2nd game for Morez Johnson Jr.
Out w/ injury- Aldama, Biberovic, Lively.
Out - rest, Max Christie. Out - illness, Jett Howard.
Gotta wait on opening right rosters to be set Monday for this to be official but looks like the Mavs are going to end up with one of the more significant get younger shifts of the NBA offseason:
Players added on standard contracts who are 25 or younger:
Milwaukee has 6: Nate Ament, Kasparas Jakucionis, Brayden Burries, Bogoljub Markovic, Kel’el Ware, and Jaime Jaquez Jr.
Mavs have 5: Morez Johnson Jr., Sergio de Larrea, Zaccharie Risacher, Santi Aldama, Tarik Biberovic.
Couple of other teams may end up at 5…several at 4. We’ll see how it shakes out next Monday.
When you're born to older parents in the 70s, you get weird baseball influences outside of your hometown team.
My dad spent the pre-Rangers years of his life listening, as many did around here, to the Cardinals on KMOX and becoming a fan (an allegiance I tossed aside for obvs reasons).
My mom, a native of New Mexico, liked the Dodgers because the Albuquerque Dukes were a Dodgers minor league affiliate for about 40 years.
Growing up with that, of course it rubs off on you. So unlike many I just don't view the Dodgers as the Evil Empire...but I must admit, it's easy being happy for the Brewers tonight. Fun team to watch, great story, and admire their resilience. And I've grown to enjoy our once a season trips there (as long as it's not in the single digits or worse temp wise lol)

By the way we are broadcasting the next two home preseason games on KFAA29 and of course streaming for MavsTV+ subscribers. No pre/post…straight up on the air at 7p for games tonight vs New Orleans and Friday vs Atlanta.
Just over a week away from a new Mavs season getting started. My 28th season of radio and/or TV with the Mavs…season 22 on the TV broadcast! Our multi-time Emmy award winning broadcast team is back. A privilege to work with Devin, Harp, Skin and Lesley and our pre/half/postgame show host Dana Larson! Other pre/post game contributors include my podcast partner and radio analyst Brian Dameris, HoFer Nancy Lieberman and a surprise or two along the way.
For your viewing of MavsTV broadcasts this season not much is changing:
Every local broadcast is on free over-the-air TV on KFAA29. A minimum of 15 of our local broadcasts will also be on WFAA. It’s fantastic to partner with the great folks at Tegna and KFAA/WFAA for a 3rd straight season!
There will also be TV affiliates in 14 markets across the state - Abilene, Amarillo, Bryan-College Station, El Paso, Harlingen/RGV, Laredo, Lubbock, Midland-Odessa, San Angelo, Sherman-Denison, Texarkana, Tyler-Longview, Waco, and Wichita Falls.
Streaming of all local broadcasts is on the MavsTV+ subscription service. In addition to every game streamed live, there is app-exclusive on-demand content like press conferences, highlights, features and IMHO the best thing, Mavs Fast Break, a 20 minute condensed version of the game available shortly after the final buzzer. I watched it frequently last year as a refresher to the ebb and flow of the game and it’s a great catch up tool if you missed it live.
Subscription for the MavsTV+ streaming service is currently $14.99 a month or for a yearly price now of $99.99 with your choice of a pair of tickets to a game or a $60 Mavs merch gift card.
Thanks to all who support what we do. As I’ve said before, in the evolving landscape of local team TV broadcasts of the NBA/MLB/NHL, it’s challenging. Thanks to a lot of folks with the Mavs and some good partners I’m really happy with the solution we’ve created.
One of my favorite dudes to come through Dallas. Sending my best to KP, as I know many MFFLs do as well. Pulling for you and look forward to seeing you healthy and hooping soon.
Hello people, I'm working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I'm getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I'll be feeling great again soon.
It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can't exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career, so it has added up for sure, but we will get through it 💪🏼
Health is wealth. Thank you for all the support 🙏🏼

This showed up randomly on the TL and I spent two minutes watching it in disbelief. Could you imagine this game with ABS
I hope this helps the MFFLs that live in markets outside of DFW. A map of our affiliates in other Texas markets…probably a lot easier to look at this then me listing out the call letters and channels of affiliates

Was fun to be on the broadcast yesterday on Big Ten Network for Ohio State’s 45-16 win vs Maryland. As always working with Jake Butt is awesome. An outstanding college football analyst and great dude!
Second time to call a game at the Shoe and it goes without saying the aura, traditions, crowd etc make it a very unique and special place in college football.
I had a few Patrick Mahomes games at Texas Tech when I was doing Big 12 Fox broadcasts and those are great memories. And I certainly will never forget the chance I had to see Jeremiah Smith in person. Two touchdowns and an insane one handed catch (highlights below) and he makes it all look effortless!

Few hours away from Mavs preseason basketball and the unofficial beginning of season 2 of Cooper Flagg. The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year dazzled us with a highlight reel of plays like these on MavsTV last season 👇
Coop, Kyrie and the Mavs meet the Rockets in preseason games this weekend in Macao. Free in-market streaming w/ @Dev34Harris and I on Mavs.com/ChinaGames with out-of-market viewing on NBATV.
7:10a CDT Friday
5:10a CDT Sunday
Good look at the team who the Mavs play away to open the reg season on Oct 21 and host in an NBA Cup Group Stage game on Oct 30.
The debut of Dusty May…the return of Kyrie Irving…and the start of the next chapter for Cooper Flagg…all set to occur in at least preseason form this weekend in Macao.
Dusty provides some insight into roster limitations including Kyrie playing only 1 of 2 games and Kai and Coop share their thoughts on taking the floor for preseason.
Streaming in-market on Mavs.com/ChinaGames - believe our broadcast will be on NBATV as well for out of market viewers. @Dev34Harris and I will be with you bright and early at 710am CDT tomorrow.
Appreciate @mgrnpxp being a gracious host as always. Class was awesome tonight. A lot of good questions from the students. ALWAYS a genuinely rewarding experience to be back on campus and hopefully sharing some sound advice with aspiring broadcasters at @UNTsocial! #GMG
Mavs nite in the Mercer! Can we do any better than @coopmavs & @MFollowill ? The answer, unequivocally, is NO! These guys are the best at what they do. Another awesome night for future broadcasters.
You love to see it. Naji is clearly a good vibes guy, a hard worker, a versatile player and a ride-or-die with Cooper! Looks like he and the fellas are enjoying the trip and it’s a good team building experience!
This was funny earlier this week in Macao-
Naji Marshall broke a rim and a chair during practice. He said at media day he wanted nothing but “net” 3’s this season…now he’s taking one home as a souvenir 🤣
Mavs will happily take his rim-rocking dunks, bread-and butter-lob game, improved 3 point shot (he’d like to see creep closer to his career high 38%)…and of course…never-ending good vibes.
Appreciate the shoutout from one of the hardest working guys in the CFB broadcast analyst/podcast space (and good dude/pal) @YogiRoth.
I haven’t had an Indiana broadcast on Big Ten Network since 2022 so it was a thrill to work a game involving the defending nat’l champs and lean on my partner @RhettNFL and his unique insight into the program. Truly one of the great college football stories of my lifetime!
Indiana had two 100 yard rushers and two 100 yard receivers, something not done by team in a Big Ten conference game since as far back as we can search (1995). But the orchestra conductor of that offense is Josh Hoover…seems like he’s getting more and more comfortable in the offense and fun to be on the call of a DFW player doing so well in the Big Ten. The active FBS passing yds leader had 4 TD passes Saturday (seen in highlights 👇) raising his total this season to 15 TD passes and no INTs. He had 10 straight completions to start Saturday’s win at Rutgers.
Side note, walked around pregame and the Rutgers homecoming/Blackout game atmosphere was great!
The @IndianaFootball program needs a ton of love for how they CONTINUE to develop QBs. Josh Hoover keeps taking leaps every week, regardless of opponent.
Ball out, on time, location, anticipation, discernment, etc.
Love how @CCignettiIU @CoachShanahan_ & @CoachTSunseri continues to develop Hoover - IU is one of my favorite games to go back and study each Sunday.
cc: @RhettNFL - who was amazing on the broadcast this past weekend alongside @MFollowill on @BigTenNetwork.
Officially official once it’s on @Stathead. A top 10 game all-time in NFL history in number of receptions recorded by CeeDee Lamb yesterday with 17 in the Cowboys win at Houston. 1 of 9 times in NFL history a player had 17+ catches in a regular season game.
On the call for 6th ranked Indiana at Rutgers tonight with @RhettNFL and @cghendy…8p EDT on @BigTenNetwork.
A notable stat - last week was Indiana’s 28th straight game to finish even with or better than the opponent in turnover margin. A modern record (avail searchable databases go back to 1995) breaking the mark of 27 straight games of not losing the turnover battle set by Air Force from Nov 2007 to Nov 2009.
