So Rishi Sunak has just noticed that China makes things. Well done. He’s now warning that China wants the whole world dependent on it. Who do you think made us dependent? Nobody in Beijing forced British and European companies to close their factories and ship production east. Our own boardrooms did that, with governments in London and Brussels cheering them on, because cheap production meant fatter margins and better quarterly results. The long-term cost? Someone else’s problem. Turns out that someone is us. For decades, the UK and EU lectured the rest of the world about free trade. Open your markets. Let competition decide. Protectionism is for losers. Very easy to say when you’re the one winning. Now China has climbed the value chain, building EVs, batteries and machine tools at a scale nobody else can match, and suddenly the free-market crowd wants tariffs, trade barriers and emergency kill switches. Funny how open markets are a sacred principle right up until you start losing. China didn’t steal their industrial base. They sold it off for short-term profit. If politicians actually want to fix that, they can start by looking in the mirror instead of pointing at Beijing. Double standards, plain and simple.

Hi, I'm Seyed Mohammad Marandi (@s_m_marandi), a professor at the University of Tehran, Iran. I've been following Mintpress for quite a while, about 15 years. And I've been on Mnar Adley's show quite a few times. And I've watched their programs, and I follow them on Twitter. I would advise everyone to do the same. The Zionist lobby, the Israeli firsters, has been trying to undermine their work. They've been attacking them financially and disrupting their fundraising. So the best response would be to help MintPress and to support them in any way possible so that they can continue to expose the evil doings of the empire.  Join their campaign today via the following link: mintpressnews.com/donations/

For Uyghur marriage culture, i had to organise something called “chong chay” which means “big tea”. It’s meant to be where my family meet her family but of course mine couldn’t come, so we did a video call. It is a pretty expensive event as you can see by all the gold and money (there was a lot more not shown in the video haha). I also got clothes for the family members who attended. Of course i don’t mind - that money goes straight back to us. Her parents will buy us things for the future with it and they also got me some gifts too so it was a really beautiful moment👏 The oldest member of the family gave a speech to me in Uyghur telling me her expectations and after which she welcomed me to the family. It’s super important as it’s the event where the family decides to accept you or not so i had to practice a lot of Uyghur for this!!!
Legally married! We will be having a traditional Uyghur wedding ceremony in Xinjiang soon😁

Curfew in Paris. Place de la République and Les Halles, 11pm to 6am. Gatherings and demonstrations banned. Four northern cities under 8pm curfews. About 2,400 arrests so far, and the interior minister admits police "lost control". State of emergency ? The PM says "we could do so". Do this in Beijing or Moscow and Western media will call it "martial law".

If you promote Jewish supremacy, you can aggressively deny genocide & still counsel government on “rights, equality and inclusion”. The latest example of Jewish exceptionalism highlights left anti-Palestinianism. On Monday, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East put out an action alert critical of Marc Gold’s membership on the government’s nine-member Advisory Council on Rights, Equality and Inclusion. Last month the former senator signed an open letter calling it a “lie” that deserves “revulsion” and “contempt” to say Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, even though that is the conclusion of most major human rights organizations and genocide scholars. A former head of the Canada-Israel Committee and Montreal Jewish Federation, Gold endorsed a letter released by StandWithUs front group Creative Community for Peace stating: “We reject this accusation with contempt.” “We must unite in repudiating the lie of genocide.” “We urge our fellow Jews and our non-Jewish friends to treat the accusation of genocide with revulsion – as the latest in a long history of lies about the Jewish people.” The government’s Advisory Council is supposed to “build bridges between communities” and “combat all forms of racism and hate.” It is helping craft Canada’s Anti-Racism Strategy. Yet Gold promotes a genocidal apartheid state that has slaughtered tens of thousands of Palestinians, Lebanese and Iranians. He has explicitly expressed “contempt” towards most Canadians, especially Arabs and Muslims, who believe Israel is committing genocide. But don’t expect Gold to be censured since he represents the Jewish establishment on the council. (Alongside other leading Jewish Zionist figures, Gold attended a cocktail reception put on by the Israeli Consul-General in Montreal in August and spoke at a press conference that month to release a pro-genocide report on purported ‘antisemitism’ at Canadian universities.) In response to CJPME raising Gold’s “contempt” for opponents of genocide, the office of the Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture Marc Miller, expressed “full confidence” in racist Marc. Why wouldn’t the minister stand by his genocidal Jewish supremacist “equality” representative when even a self-declared “Marxist” “anti-Zionist” writing for a leftist publication defends Gold? In June, York professor Jordy Cummings published an anti-Palestinian screed for The Breach headlined “The left’s opposition to antisemitism must be unconditional”. The commentary was linked to the establishment of the Advisory Council, yet Cummings failed to mention that his uncle, Gold, was appointed to the council (other members of Cumming’s family are major anti-Palestinian donors). When I wrote a critique of the article and its author, Cummings explicitly defended his uncle. In a rebuttal Cummings wrote that Gold was “well to the left of the mainstream Jewish leadership right now.... I have a lot of respect for my uncle, and I think he may be reasonable enough to be pushed to oppose the IHRA definition of antisemitism.” In another article Cummings stated, “seeing that my uncle, Marc Gold, was appointed is intriguing. Marc has led Jewish institutions, including Jewish Federations of Canada and the Canada Israel Committee. With this being said, I don't think I am going out on a limb in making a point that he is no fan of the current government and its conduct in Gaza and beyond. In general, Marc and I do not see eye to eye on Palestine, but we respect one another, and he is a genuine, principled liberal.” The “genuine, principled liberal” said liberal human rights organizations – from Amnesty International to Human Rights Watch – deserve “contempt” and “revulsion” for saying Israel is committing genocide. The apartheid lobbyist claims those labelling Gaza a “genocide” engage in “the latest in a long history of lies about the Jewish people.” Marc Gold is not simply a nice liberal uncle who just seeks to defend oppressed Jews’, as Cummings presents him. Instead of lecturing the left about “antisemitism’ the ‘anti-Zionist’ ought to be challenging his family’s genocidal Jewish supremacism. Unfortunately, Cummings is not an anomaly. Three years into the horrors in Gaza, much of the left continues to exculpate Jewish supremacism. Is it a surprise then that a Liberal minister appoints a racist genocide advocate to craft its policy on “rights, equality and inclusion”?
