The Western Mediterranean needs rules that work for both the sea and the people who depend on it.
Good exchange today in Strasbourg with French Producers Organisation @OPduSud and MEPs @EricSargiacomo and Claire Fita on the future of the WestMed MAP.
Our compass: strong science, healthier stocks, more selective fishing — and a framework that gives Mediterranean fishers a viable future.

At today’s Inter-Advisory Councils Meeting, I presented new voluntary Guidelines on the functioning of Advisory Councils, based on contributions from the Councils themselves.
Advisory Councils are essential to the Common Fisheries Policy. They bring different voices around the same table and help turn dialogue, expertise, and experience into better policy.
💬Strong dialogue and mutual trust are indispensable if we want Advisory Councils to continue playing their full role.
Happy #WorldYouthSkillsDay!
