bit presumptuous for a man who already looks like a decrepit corpse to ask applicants to make a three-year commitment to working for him
I'm hiring my next Chief of Staff. You won’t know every field I work in. What matters is how quickly you learn, the questions you ask, and whether you can think from first principles. You’ll help evaluate opportunities and work with founders building consequential companies. Technical background preferred. Three-year commitment. Menlo Park, in person. Amazon, famously one of the least defensible businesses of all time, with a paltry “moat” that is effortlessly replaceable by FedEx
Replying to @elonmusk @zerohedge
The future is a merchant product that makes one’s inventory available via MCP / headlessly and accepts agent payments. I suspect shipping can be done thru fedex/ups/usps direct from merchant at similar cost when you strip out the Amazon take rate (ie merchant can spend more if needed to ship quickly). The moat isn’t what it is anymore. That is why they are blocking.

This guy probably thought he was working at Taco Bell simply because an H1B stole the Google software engineering position he otherwise surely could have landed. Meanwhile he’s too fucking stupid to successfully commit a mass shooting after two years of planning
BREAKING: Mass Shooting Plot Targeting Sri Venkateswara Temple in Aurora, Illinois, Foiled A 19-year-old suspected white supremacist, Alexandros Paporakis, has been arrested for allegedly plotting a mass shooting at a Hindu place of worship in Aurora, Illinois. Investigators say the suspect had been planning the attack for two years and allegedly targeted Indians and South Asians. Police recovered an AR-style rifle, ammunition and tactical gear. A potentially devastating hate-driven attack may have been prevented. Paporakis worked as a cashier at a Taco Bell in Arlington Heights for nearly seven months. According to a co-worker who spoke to investigators, Paporakis regularly made racist remarks, particularly targeting Indians. He openly identified himself as a white supremacist and frequently spoke about Nazis and armed struggle.

if you looked at the type of people they were hiring, it was very obvious this business was intended to be a quick cash grab from the beginning
Scoop: Decagon has had early M&A talks with ServiceNow & others. It has hired a bank to evaluate inbound interest, but could choose to raise a funding round instead. Company was last valued at $4.5B, but growing AI businesses demand significant premiums businessinsider.com/ai-agent…

On what basis is search way down other than Twitter vibes? This is all publicly reported: engagement and revenue are both at ATHs.
“[Google] knows Gemini is going to cannibalize Google Search, and the numbers are staggering." "I saw last week, search is way, way down.” “But they have all these other businesses: YouTube, Waymo, Gmail, Android.” “They can literally kill the thing that funded all those other businesses because now they have all the other businesses.” “If all they had was search and they never built those other businesses, they'd be in a world of hurt right now.” USV co-founder @fredwilson:

People criticize Google for moving too slowly in AI, but the decision to not move fast and break things is a perfectly rational strategy. We are still very early, and trust ultimately will be the most important factor in capturing the consumer opportunity.

you think investors are pouring many billions of dollars into these companies to distribute benefits?
In this interview I tried to argue that a post-scarcity society will benefit working people. It was largely a rhetorical failure. People don’t trust that the benefits will be distributed, and tech optimists have to fix this communications issue.

in the coming years were all gonna be looking at kalshi and polymarket the same way we looked at juul and the people involved will be rushing to hide their involvement in the company

There are two options: Private Equity or Motorola. Not sure which is worse.

I think DeepMind is unfortunately just going to keep rotting from a talent perspective
I’m joining @GoogleDeepMind to build world models and interactive media experiences. This move means I’ll be dropping out of @StanfordGSB and stepping down as its co-student body president. I’m incredibly excited for what’s next. I still believe deeply in the value of an MBA, and I’ll write separately about how I made the decision to leave Stanford. For now, I wanted to share some of the thinking behind what’s next:

This post from Google DeepMind’s “head of RSI” just shows that they’re very liberal with use of the term “RSI” and that the “leaked” model name means nothing. Another way you can tell it’s nothing is that the AI Studio clowns would be going nuts if there was even a hint of truth.
RSI is not a binary event, it is a continuum of compounding loops -- and we are already in the continuum.

From this moment onwards, corporate boards trusting OpenAI with proprietary data should be liable for negligence.
Replying to @deaneyang
This is fucked. OpenAI heard rumors of Alpoge and Buckman’s work with Codex and trained on their in progress work to scoop them. Offering to publish together when you stole their work is pathetic, demanding Buckman cut out his coauthor as well is … I don’t know what to say.

he makes a lot of posts like this, but there has not actually been a meaningfully successful YC company for a while
There's a startup in the current YC batch that's growing at 57% a week. And not because they started last week; they've been doing this for a couple months. They can't keep growing at this rate for too many more months; you run out of atoms; but they're likely to be big.

working at mckinsey does not really teach you most of that. quality of their avg consultant is extremely variable, and most are indistinguishable from someone who ended up at deloitte, except they went to a better school, are very wealthy, and/or got lucky on interview day
A lot of VCs (myself included) used to shit on the ex-banker/consultant founder archetype. But I'm increasingly realizing I was wrong. In an age where building is easier and distribution/execution is still hard, these programs are the perfect training grounds. 2 years at McK/GS/etc. teaches you how to grind, how to sell to enterprises, how to work effectively in a team, and gives you a deep understanding of business models. Exactly what it takes to succeed as a founder in 2026.

Logan and his team are not the Gemini team. They just work on making the API accessible to developers. The fact that he has amounted such a following on the back of this is astounding.
What the Gemini team did on X trying to ride the GLM-5.3 flash hype will be studied as one of the clearest lessons in marketing on how to publicly embarrass your own brand.

huge: mercor founder just announced that he is planning to resign
The next couple of years are among the most important in history. The economy is transforming an order of magnitude faster than ever before. If you have the opportunity to work obsessively on an important mission and choose not to, you may regret it for the rest of your life.
