All we demanded was Imran Khan’s transfer to a private hospital, restoration of his meetings and release of his sisters. In response, he imposed Governor’s Rule and an emergency. Only a mentally unstable person would go to such extreme lengths just to cling to power.

Military is not an "institution". Institutions are independent, as the judiciary is supposed to be. Militarymen are servants of people and one of the bodies of the government. And the state is the Parliament, provincial Assemblies, Prime Minister's cabinet and institutions that can impose taxes on people. That's the definition of the state, also written in the constitution. So government is part of the state. Both are not completely separate. Asim Munir and his cronies in uniform are not the state. So called "establishment" should also learn the difference between focusing on terr0rism and using snipers on peaceful protestors. Every action has a reaction, which is equal but opposite in direction.

The Defence Minister is right. It’s why I have never been considered Jewish by the Jewish community. My mother was a Church of England Protestant. And by this logic, my father was not Jewish either.
