.@DrSJaishankar Sir, I request your urgent intervention in the case of Jaffer Raza (Indian Passport No. V8325033) and Jurath Ali (Indian Passport No. W0047851), both residents of Alipur, Karnataka, who are presently serving life imprisonment in the UAE in connection with a narcotics case. Both young men had travelled to the Gulf in search of employment. Jaffer Raza, an electrician, and Jurath Ali, a plumber, were allegedly offered jobs in Sharjah by a travel agent. According to their families, they were taken to the UAE via Bangkok, Thailand, where they were allegedly handed bags and instructed to deliver them to persons who would receive them at Sharjah Airport. Both were arrested on 29 May 2025 at Sharjah International Airport. The Abu Dhabi Federal Court of First Instance delivered its judgment on 11 March 2026, and the Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court delivered its judgment on 28 April 2026, affirming the life-imprisonment convictions. The families have approached me seeking urgent intervention. Jaffer Raza is the sole breadwinner of his family, including his aged mother Syeda Begum, who is a paralysis patient, his wife and three minor children aged 7, 5 and 2. Jurath Ali is also the sole breadwinner of his family, including his aged parents, wife and two minor children. Both families are financially very poor. I therefore request @DrSJaishankar Ji to kindly direct the @IndembAbuDhabi & @cgidubai to provide all possible consular and legal assistance, examine the circumstances surrounding their alleged deception by the travel agent, and approach the competent authorities of the UAE and Sharjah for every permissible humanitarian relief, including pardon/clemency and repatriation to India at the earliest, subject to UAE law and procedures. I also request the intervention of @DKShivakumar @CMofKarnataka to support these families and coordinate with the Government of India in pursuing this humanitarian matter. The families are desperately seeking the return of their loved ones. Shaik Ansar met with a serious accident on 25 August 2026, sustaining critical injuries and multiple fractures. He is currently in a critical condition and requires continued medical care. His parents and sister are desperately seeking to travel to the USA to be with him. The family had already paid the visa fees in April 2026 to travel to the USA to attend their son’s convocation, but could not obtain an appointment as no visa slot was available. Another murder has been reported in Banu Nagar, Santoshnagar, Hyderabad. Mohammed Ilyas (43), a resident of Banu Nagar under Yakutpura Assembly Constituency, was allegedly called out of his house by 3–5 persons, taken about 50 metres away and attacked with weapons. He was shifted to Owaisi Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. I visited Osmania General Hospital Mortuary and met the bereaved family. The relatives alleged that the attackers are associated with a political party and claimed that two accused, along with a political party leader, surrendered at IS Sadan Police Station. These allegations must be independently verified through a fair investigation. I urge the @hydcitypolice to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation, identify and take legal action against every person responsible, and ensure that no political influence obstructs justice.
