The move to appoint General Mkhwanazi as the Head of the Hawks is greatly welcome. However, the Acting Minister must fully follow the public service recruitment processes which includes that the VACANT post MUST be contested. The Minister is short-circuiting the appointment process, and that the SAPS Act provisions that he refers to in the ‘alleged’ Memo to the Cabinet are meant only strengthen and elaborate further on the oversight function of the @PresidencyZA and @ParliamentofRSA in the appointment process. Accordingly, the SAPS provision on concurrent role of the Cabinet do not replace the public service regulations.
It is my humble view that @SAPoliceService Legal Service must properly advise our overwhelmed and dazed Acting Minister of @SAPoliceService properly on this matter.

Ladies, it’s true, you can’t force him and you don’t have to, the Law will gladly do that for you.
Take him to both the Maintenance Court and the Children’s Court, one will force him to pay money and the other will force him to physically spend time with his child. They will give you both a nice timetable where you can even have some weekends and holidays off from parenting.
Failing to comply with a court-ordered maintenance payment without a valid reason is a criminal offense in SA, the conviction can lead to a fine, credit blacklisting, or imprisonment for up to three years.
Once he sperms in you, the Law is on your side. Men need to learn to protect their sperm and when they fail to do so, there’s consequences.

Unrelated, but as women we also need to take all necessary precautions to prevent unwanted pregnancies. As much as he should’ve used protection too you cannot force a man who doesn’t want to be a father to become one.
