JUST IN: The heroic bystander who took down a 16-year-old gunman during a deadly Oregon elementary school shooting has been identified as 36-year-old Kaylub Giamanco. Giamanco, whose two daughters attend Silver Rail Elementary School, saw the suspect shoot at a truck before blasting through the glass panes of the school’s double doors to get inside. Police say the teenager entered a classroom and fired as many as 15 rounds. Giamanco grabbed a legally owned .40-caliber pistol from his car and rushed into the building, following the sounds of gunfire. When he reached the classroom, he found the suspect struggling with a teacher who had thrown her cellphone at the gunman and tackled him. Giamanco then shot him multiple times, ending the attack. Three children and a teacher were killed, while two others were injured. New details are emerging about the father’s actions and what his family says about the tragedy: foxnews.com/us/hero-dad-took… | @foxandfriends

I’ve spent enough years watching energy markets to know one thing: Energy affects everything. The price at the pump affects families, farmers, and small businesses. Energy independence matters. reuters.com/business/energy/

64 years ago today, Sean Connery walked onto the screen as James Bond for the first time. October 5, 1962, Dr. No premiered in the UK and introduced movie audiences to Connery's 007. Connery had the tuxedo, the confidence, the danger and that introduction that would become one of the most famous in movie history. β€œBond. James Bond.” The movie took Bond from London to Jamaica, gave us Joseph Wiseman as Dr. No and Ursula Andress walking out of the Caribbean as Honey Ryder in a scene people still recognize more than six decades later. Ian Fleming had created James Bond years earlier, but Dr. No launched the film series that turned 007 into a worldwide phenomenon. 25 official Bond films. Six different actors as 007. Generations of villains, Bond girls, gadgets, cars and one of the most recognizable movie characters ever created. 64 years ago today, Sean Connery introduced movie audiences to the James Bond who would define 007 on the big screen for generations. There are people who leave a mark on the world, and then there are people who change it entirely. Steve changed the world and so many lives in the process. He certainly changed my life forever. His spirit lives on in everything he created and everyone he inspired.

Watch James Hetfield's right hand. The "Master of Puppets" riff is all downstrokes, every one, at full speed, and he's been doing it for 40 years. Metallica's engine isn't the solos. It's this.

James Garner gave Tom Selleck the best advice of his career. Selleck had been offered Magnum, P.I. He hated the original script. Thomas Magnum had no flaws, a Ferrari, and two beautiful women on his arm. Selleck thought the character had no heart. Garner told him, "You will never have more leverage than you have right now." So Selleck pushed back. Magnum got flaws, humor, and heart. Good thing, right?
