We held a funeral outside the US Capitol yesterday for the 51,000 people who will die next year if the Big Ugly Bill in the Senate becomes law.
I’ll be on @Morning_Joe at 9:30am to talk about it.

I hope to see you in DC on Monday.
Budgets are moral documents. They are a mirror showing us what we prioritize, and what we value… and who we are as a society.
I’m all about cutting the federal budget.
So much of the federal budget goes to fund militarism and war, things that destroy lives like those in Gaza… but these cuts about to happen are not to defund war and nuclear weapons — they are about cutting life-giving resources to our most vulnerable neighbors.
In the words of Dr. King: “A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.”
As a follower of Jesus and someone who cares about people flourishing… I am deeply concerned about our country. That’s why I’m headed to DC on Monday.
Join us, in person, or online as we pray for our country inside our nation’s Capitol.
