A landmark release marking the beginning of a new dimension in performance for Marina Abramović.
Tonight’s full moon (Nov 5) marks another moment in the cycle of MAE (Marina Abramović Element) — a collection guided by presence, energy, and rhythm.
For Abramović, the moon has always been a collaborator. 🌕

In her Cleaning the House workshops, Marina still guides participants to fast, meditate, and perform during specific lunar phases.
She believes the moon heightens awareness, allowing artists to reach deeper states of focus and endurance - a return to natural timing.
In MAE, collecting = participation.

5 votes • Final results1/ MAE stems from Marina Abramović’s desire to carry her legacy beyond the physical. Creating digital identity through an avatar means freedoms not possible in the flesh.
Part of that freedom is choosing your age, your image, your posture, your activity. In MAE, the avatar is 60. This is significant.
3/ Abramović has always acknowledged and celebrated age: the body her subject, time her medium, birthdays marking “the moment the performance of living begins.”
At 60, she staged a gala at the Guggenheim to honour that performance of life; now, nearing 80, the show goes on with Transforming Energy at the 61st Venice Biennale.
Yet even she admits the limits of the body, and that’s where MAE begins.
