You can bet your arse that if she’d been a Labour MP or some darling of the left, the BBC, Sky and the papers would still be running it morning, noon and night. Specials. Think-pieces. Candlelit vigils. Endless analysis about “what this says about our society.”
Instead the story’s been parked. Charge laid, court date set for next year, and suddenly it’s old news.

Labours Bridget Phillipson accuses Nigel Farage of using violence against women and girls for political point-scoring.
But watch the interview it’s Phillipson who turns women’s safety into a political attack.
Nigel is raising genuine concerns about women’s safety. That is NOT “weaponising” the issue it is legitimate political debate.
Put the victims first, Bridget. Not your party politics.
I don’t believe Bridget Phillipson is putting victims first at all.
Women and girls were failed by the authorities for years. Yet when their suffering is raised, she talks about political point-scoring instead of the victims themselves.
If you cannot put the safety of women and girls ahead of politics, you should not hold the department meant to protect them.
