Today's morning rush hour on Great Western Road in Glasgow. I love how the flowering cherry trees bring almost as much colour to the city's streets in autumn as they do when they bloom in spring. #glasgow #glasgowtoday #greatesternroad #rushhour #autumn #autumncolour #tree

Somewhere in between today's rainstorms, I came across this rather beautifully autumnal tree set against a very briefly blue sky next to Sandymount Cemetery in the east of Glasgow. #glasgow #autumn #autumncolour #tree #autumnleaves

NEW: MAGA voters say they're going to the polls to fight “communism”—but when asked what communism actually means, things get awkward FAST. In The Daily Show's upcoming special “Red Flags,” Jordan Klepper puts Republican voters on the spot with one simple question. Their answers are something else. These two minutes are worth watching. See for yourself!

I know sis either has a linguistic degree or did some phonology and phonetics classes. This is exactly how you should teach kids words.
As an adult, I want to attend this school so badly.

Will you look at that A vaccine that prevents cancer! Cool
The vaccine for melanoma, described by experts as a “game-changer” cuts the risk of patients dying or cancer returning by 42 per cent, trials have found. Intismeran, produced by Moderna, is custom-built for patients who have had a melanoma removed, using a sample of the growth. Its DNA is sequenced with AI to create the vaccine ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

UK lacks essential electricity transmission/storage systems. Billions paid to solar & wind turbine farms to switch off during periods of high sunshine/winds, expected to cost £8bn a year by 2030. National Grid pays dividends. What is the Govt doing? Watch the Minister's reply

This is the great irony of British privatisation. We were told the state should not own strategic infrastructure. So we sold it. Then foreign states, sovereign wealth funds and state-linked companies bought stakes in the very assets we had decided our own state should not own. Chinese investors have held stakes in Heathrow and Thames Water. Chinese-linked companies bought major utility assets and became involved in UK nuclear power. So perhaps the question was never: “State ownership or private ownership?” It was: whose state owns it, who gets the returns, and whose national interest is ultimately being served? Britain did not abolish state ownership, it simply outsourced it.
Almost £200 billion of British infrastructure is now owned by Beijing-linked firms. Energy, schools, even asylum hotels, sold under governments who promised sovereignty. This is what post-Brexit freedom looks like: a fire sale. ⚙️ What China 🇨🇳 owns •Hinkley Point C nuclear plant – £13.15 billion stake •Heathrow Airport – £22.03 billion •Inch Cape Wind Farm – £1.75 billion •Multiple City of London office blocks bringing in tens of millions in rent each year •Private schools, ports, power stations, and hotels, part of an investment web tied to Beijing-controlled firms and state-backed funds.

Steve Witkoff has financial interests in russia and he’s in Moscow because Americas foreign policy is now about making as much corrupt cash as possible for the Trump family. That’s why they’re calling Putin a humanitarian. His missiles are crashing into Kyiv right now by the way

Apartment living is more popular in countries with a culture of building HOUSE-LIKE apartments. A house has a front and back. An exterior wall facing the public street (busy! exciting! public!) and an exterior wall facing the backyard (quiet, green, safe). Apartments can have a front and a back, too, with point access designs.
A cute piece of urban infill housing in Berlin Each floor has two 3-bedroom apartments, which are also dual aspect facing east and west. This offers morning and afternoon sun, and access to cross breezes. DMSW Architektur
