FUN FACT If by 'years' they meant 'minutes' then you'd only be SLIGHTLY exaggerating.....
FUN FACT A wind turbine would have to operate for approximately 300,000 years to pay back the energy it took to make it.

I'm a fan of free speech, but I scroll my timeline & the amplification of blatantly insane rhetoric, ridiculous baseless claims and general extremism + the absence of sensible discussion moving humanity forward shows 'we're doing this wrong' Anyhow, here's Zero for mental health.

Tell me you hate your family members without saying you hate your family members. Judging by their time line unlikely to be true but if it were what a horrible thing to do to a 'close relative'
I asked a close relative if they would support me if I thought I was transgender. She said yes. It’s sad to see that something which is so medically and mentally damaging and should be considered as a form of self harm is welcomed with open arms. If I felt so uncomfortable with my own body and identity, I would want support and love from my family members that I’m fine the way I am. Not to encourage me to go through harmful surgery so I can never have a normal happy life.

Is it not simply a case of 'mention 2024 or a date to trigger searches' vs 'no date and no data when the model training was done' standard AI behaviour. Asking about Kamala without 2024 only brings info from 2020. Asking about trump July 2024 brings information.

Linguistically the sign... The addition of 'don't touch the reins' waters down the primary warning. I can see it being perceive as 'approach is OK but don't touch the runs for fear of kicking or biting'. Is not the intent, but I can see it...

The number of posts implying this should be on whitehouse / presidential letterhead and that it's suspicious that he hasn't beached the rules about personal vs official duties and comms. Party nomination is not a presidential announcement. If this was letterhead it would be bad.
Something smells. Why would President Biden announce such a momentous and historic decision on a Sunday afternoon on a social media platform? The letter he posted was not written on White House stationary. And his signature appeared to be photoshopped. Also, Biden's signature was underlined and typically he does not underline his name. His staff only found out once the message had been posted on X. And Cabinet members were notified by the Chief of Staff -- not Biden. The last time the public saw Biden he feebly walked down the stairs of Air Force One and had to be physically assisted into the presidential limo. He has not been seen in public since. How do we know Biden wrote that letter? And how do we know that Biden posted the letter on his X page? There wasn't even an official White House photograph of the moment. His brother, Frank Biden, told CBS News that health "absolutely" was the deciding factor in the decision. And then he told CBS “Selfishly, I will have him back to enjoy whatever time he has left." Is President Biden still alive? Is he awake and alert? Is he in command of his faculties? With respect, we need to see proof of life.

Thanks @ParksVictoria for another debacle day... we had the sites we wanted in cart, then couldn't access the cart. Got others eventually all ticked and the site kicked out (before timer ended). I know you ARE trying, but this is our yearly group.. and it's a nightmare.

The UK results, generally pleasing, are the most extreme FPTP outcome. Masks a bit the fact a lot of the votes went further RIGHT (Reform). Seeing a lot of talk about FPTP and all replies are pro or con proportional rep. Is there a reason preferential isn't in the discussion?

The top reply on an Elon post, is a scam using both his and Tesla's name. Tell me again that the algorithms are working, the bots are dropping, community notes are helping and this is a reliable place for news, engagement and discourse.

Another example of the trouble of context. I liked this post, then got nervous. I liked it because someone did the tiniest but of fact checking highlighting possible disinformation. But there's at least 3 ways people could interpret my like... Some of which are bad.

Except... You can't. $150 in add-ons to spend, plus $200 if you pre-registered, so $350. Except you have to spend now, and all buds and watches are out of stock and can't order. So $350 worth of the worst cases or have to spend ANOTHER $1, 000 on a tablet.
Pre-order the new Galaxy S24 Ultra and get up to $1,049 in bonus value when you buy from Samsung.com.* *T&Cs apply. Trade-in on eligible devices only.

I went to Coles today, they had a 'managers choice' section which had Australia day items. Totally surprised at how full the shelves were, and how absent the crowd was. I was expecting a boxing day sale style mob looting the shelves of the in demand plastic. 🤷

The comments are a back and forth of purple pointing out this is all older clip from Brazil with an off duty police offer, retorted by 'still that's how we handle it in Florida' . The fact that the bad guy doesn't come like that with a gun elsewhere is completely lost on them...

Not sure which one should be insulted @PhilNWang or @kevinbridges86 although it's possible I've only ever identified Phil from his wang...

Why does/would a senator need to post their view on the referendum using a newspaper masthead like an advert? I can't even find this being a snippet of something published there (though I'm definitely not paying to find out)... Could he not just post his quote?

9now.nine.com.au/a-current-a… This seems like it is supposed to evoke some sort of sympathy or empathy... But it doesn't. Monitoring 'feels' icky but remember when people saw you walk in late, saw you working & saw your screen for 8 hours. Warnings, and even causing company fines. Ok.

I mean... Someone has presumably pitched this to someone, got funding, engineers have done drawings, prototypes made, production run... Then money spent on advertising. The problem of opening cans has been solved.
