I rarely ever check the tl now. Mostly I rt posts from moots, and about 90% are either asked of me or friends whose accounts I actually check. Today, I decided to scroll. I am very much reminded why I chose not to be active much in this space anymore, but if you’ll allow me a moment, I want to share my thoughts. I am no one more important than you. And you are no one more important than me and everyone else. We all came here because we had a commonality - a love of the music of a group. So much has caused breaks in this; Covid lockdown, a world overwhelmed with misinformation and the push to always be right, rampant hatred of “them” over “us”. I can’t change your mind for you. You can’t change mine. But I wonder if we could all consider just trying to listen to one another. To not jump to anger and hate and names, but to talk human to human. To remember we all have a commonality, this wonderful music we all cherish, and realize that we are not actually the most important person in the world. And that neither is anyone else. And that if we talk, we may find more commonalities and be less likely to hate one another. Anyway, I’ll crawl back in my hole again now. But I hope you know I love you. As always, even if you hate me, I love you.
