The wonderful Brooke Eby has ALS and is sick of people trying to recruit her into the chronic Lyme scam.
The chronic Lyme cult aggressively targets people with ALS, MS, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's. None of these have any connection to real #Lyme disease.
A chiropractor who falsely claims germs aren't real is attacking the quacks who falsely claim Lyme causes everything 🍿🍿

The whole “died with” vs “died from” covid has been misrepresented and absolutely doesn’t apply to measles. My 2 cents for @npratc @mgodoyh

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and the CDC have stopped recommending seven vaccines for children, including vaccines that protect against hepatitis B, RSV, and meningitis.
These vaccines have kept millions of children out of the hospital and saved countless lives.
I'm suing.

Yesterday’s @nytimes featured an article about a man with terminal lung cancer who was enticed to chase cures that didn’t exist. He died before the pandemic. Will MAHA turbocharge this sort of quackery in the US? sciencebasedmedicine.org/alt…

Bizarrely, there's been almost no discussion about the real medical debate underlying the COVID hullabaloo at the bar in Western Massachusetts.

🔹 Vaccines don’t cause autism
🔹 Acetaminophen use in pregnancy does not autism
🔹 COVID-19 vaccines are safe in pregnancy.

🔹 Splitting MMR is not safer
Science matters. Evidence matters. Public health policy should reflect both.

Fake experts and conspiracy theories are typically weaponized, whether it's attributing non-specific symptoms to Lyme, bartonella, vaccines, MCAS, mold, EMFs, gluten, or another fad diagnosis.
Replying to @LymeScience
It’s truly the new chronic Lyme disease. There is so much misinformation spread online. Everyone seems to have MCAS now and it is used to explain literally any symptom. It’s so intellectually lazy but these MCAS quacks tend to act like everyone else not diagnosing everyone with MCAS is lazy 🙄
Medscape "teaches the controversy" of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) w/ 2 long-time quacks (Theoharis Theoharides & Lawrence Afrin), along with two mainstream allergy/immunology experts. Afrin made MCAS an example of the "One True Cause of All Disease" pseudoscience trope.
Experts warn against MCAS overdiagnosis, and give Afrin the side eye.
The diagnostic criteria spread by Tania Dempsey & Lawrence Afrin are unacceptably non-specific.
The outcome is unnecessary worries:

ALT Conditions or clinical presentations that are not diagnostic of MCAS Some publications and lay press information have greatly broadened the clinical criteria for MCAS. Nonvalidated laboratory tests have been used to correlate unrelated symptoms with nonvalidated laboratory findings to make a diagnosis of MCAS. This has caused confusion for patients and physicians alike. The misconceptions about diagnosing MCAS have affected many patients and impaired their quality of life. More concerning, however, is using the diagnosis of MCAS erroneously and missing a truly treatable underlying condition not related to MCs.
Well that explains the poor journalism:

Sigh- It turns out that the Medscape writer Brittany Vargas is a reiki master who used to work for a magazine dedicated to integrative medicine quackery.
So it's not surprising that she'd hype integrative medicine quacks Theoharis Theoharides and Lawrence Afrin.
Not the first time a Medscape writer inappropriately hyped quackery advocates.
Christine Kilgore wrote credulous articles for Medscape about antics of the chronic #Lyme cult (where Medical Child Abuse runs rampant).
Kilgore's children have received "chronic Lyme" diagnoses.
