The new King of Norway, Haakon VIII.
He looks so sad. His reign is only a few hours old but so soon after losing his dad, King Harald V, he travelled to the Royal Palace in Oslo and announced the death to a Council of State. His motto is All for Norway.
The love story of Harald and Sonja of Norway is one for the ages. She was a ''commoner'' and he was the Crown Prince of Norway when only men could succeed to the throne.
He said he would never marry anyone but her meaning the succession would end with him. True love won.
King Harald of Norway, the king everyone loved, has died.
Harald seemed genuinely kind and interested and caring. He was a rarity, a man with wisdom and the courage to share it. He reigned at a time of great change and embraced it all.

Love the behind the scenes peek for the State Banquet and love even more that while the lady of the house is taking it all very seriously, her husband is just relieved she's not still talking about the menu
Queen Camilla took on a high profile role when The Royal Family needed her earlier this year.
Today HM was more than happy to stay discreetly in the background while others took centre stage. Family first. That's class.
Lovely to see the Princess of Wales looking so happy. And her happy children, happy at her side. It's what you want for anyone, just to be together and enjoying it.
Don't usually do the here is royal fashion thing but love this hat. End of fashion commentary.
The current longest reigning monarch in Europe guiding the newest on the continent through his first State Visit as king. Looks like he's having a great time, too
Usually, it's all about the tiaras at a State Banquet but easily the best thing about this one is how proud Beatrix and Margriet are of the kickass young woman stood between them.
Lovely to chat to @Anna_Glowinski on @TRETalkRadio just now about the amazing Katherine Parr!
