The success stories emerging from the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) are providing a launchpad for Kenya's next phase of transformation, Beyond Vision 2030, with the Boma Yangu Milimani Affordable Housing Project in Kakamega offering a tangible example of how investment in housing can improve lives while stimulating local economies. Commissioned by H.E. President @WilliamsRuto in March 2026, Phase I is now fully occupied, with all 220 completed homes providing families with modern and dignified living spaces. Beyond the homes themselves, residents have access to paved walkways, roads, parking, landscaped green spaces, recreational areas and comprehensive lighting, creating a secure and well-planned community. The completed phase has also become an economic hub, creating opportunities for local artisans, youth, suppliers, traders and service providers during and after construction. Increased demand for goods and services around the estate continues to circulate income within the local economy, demonstrating the wider economic value of affordable housing investment. The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration continues to support the project by facilitating security and safeguarding the development and its residents.
