A study maps the optimal locations for crops in China under various climate-change scenarios. Moving crops to new areas could increase food production and decrease both water use and leached nitrogen fertilizer. In PNAS Nexus: ow.ly/WM8q50UCzRj
📢 Less than 2 weeks to apply for these two modelling postdoc positions.
🌍 Come join us at the Centre of Excellence @VOLT_center , Copenhagen, Denmark.
🍀 Many collaboration opportunities are awaiting you.
We have just announced two fully-financed 3-year post doc positions at @VOLT_center in Copenhagen, Denmark
1⃣ Microbial trait modeling
2⃣ Modeling Ecosystem Dynamics and Atmospheric Feedback

Marta has been working hard to bring all #photosynthesis and #VOC data together. We assessed how different growth temperatures influence plant phenology, #heatwave and #drought responses for 3 widely-distributed #Arctic #shrubs. This is part of a 5-yr VYI project @VILLUMscience
In this week's #VOC lunch meeting @zugunruhe_96 presented the results of her #mesocosms #drought #experiments and got feedback for her manuscript through a very interesting discussion
#EGU2025 Call for abstract! We welcome you who work with ecosystem/ecological models to discuss recent advancements in your models to improve simulated responses, dynamics and process interactions.

🌟 Job Alert! We're seeking 2 PhD students to join our lab @GeoSci_UChicago in Fall 2025. We use cutting-edge experiments and modeling to advance our understanding of aerosol formation and its impact on air quality & climate change. RT@AtmChemAeroJobs @earth_jobs @Research_Jobss
Move our science comm. @bluesky @Riikka_Rinnan made a Biogenic VOC “starter pack”. Please consider to join the community if you work with plant volatiles, soil volatiles, marine volatiles, and all kinds of biogenic volatiles in a broad sense.

Driven #LPJGUESS with air and surface temperature, we in-depth explored the impacts of two widely-used temperatures on modelled ecosystem structure, plant phenology and productivity. We asked for a regional product to capture plant temperature dynamics. agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.…
We also found that higher summer surface temperature (T) stimulates tundra plant individuals' growth, but lower surface T in non-summer months restricts boreal PFTs' overall growth, although with certain compensatory changes in vegetation structure.

Sabbatical dreaming? Consider a stay @VOLT_center and experience of the laid-back Scandi lifestyle in beautiful Copenhagen.
Our faculty @science_ku runs a visiting scientist program to support stays. It also supported @DrLauraMeredith, extremely fruitful for our whole team!
