👇 👇 Vital. Don't sell your Corecoins yet... Someone may steal your Bitcoin.
SCAM ALERT! If you hold the old spamcoin, you have an equal number of new bitcoin waiting for you. If anyone tells you that you can "just spend them" About either coin they are lying to you to attempt a replay attack and steal your coins. Do not try to spend your coins yet.

By RDTS/BIP-110 I guess you mean... Bitcoin?
If hackers start accepting [RDTS/BIP-110] bitcoins en masse for programming projects, the currency will become very real. ✳️🏆⚡️💪

Dude I think it is time to pack it up. You continue down this road and you will have zero influence left within 6 months.

I've been sitting on an article about the DIY signing device ecosystem for way too long. @BitcoinMagazine isn't accepting outside submissions anymore. Who's got a platform that I can guest publish this on? @SeedSigner @SpecterDIY @selfcustodykrux #Kern @YTCryptoGuide @satochip

Nice, but I'll pass on buying any for now.

Did you actually use BTC or crypto today?
If we would actually use crypto instead of posting about it on X we would have instant global adoption.

Saturday 8th August 2026 will forever be remembered in the true-historical record, as the day that Bitcoin died. Sure the corporate propaganda, and AI will say "We fought off a hostile takeover attempt" whilst failing to confess the takeover was already well underway by the Military,Financial,Industrial Complex. Current and future CORE Supporters might spare us a thought, the next time Bitcoin Core starts to discuss, and move to implement things they don't agree with. It will become rapidly clear to you that you DON'T have a say, that your views don't matter and never did, and if you don't like it then sell whatever amount of bitcoin they allow you to, and run for the hills. This BIP-110 war has taught me one thing, if you stand by your principals and fight for what you know (Not believe) is right you will come out the other side being able to hold your head high and remember the good you did. And those that just went along with the status quo, slandered and maligned those pushing for very reasonable maintenance of the bitcoin network, if you allow yourself to remember us one day as the "Canary in the coal mine", you might think ... "Maybe those guys were onto something." Something extremely dark and forboding has just descended over Bitcoin, and it may not be obvious to you now, but give it time and you'll see Bitcoin morph into something totally divorced from its principals. No one will be able to Buy or Sell unless they have the... Mark My Words. Proud to have flown the Flag for BIP-110, and that the movement succeeds in growing support further. I like to thank Satoshi for giving his gift freely to the world. Whilst I'd like to think that if he could do it all over again he'd have built it to resist this scenario of miner collusion, at the same time I'm pleased to have been involved in it right up until now where. Bitcoin itself though has merely become another stock ticker, like the MSTR, & GrayScale Trusts of this world. I'll finish with this quote from Pink Floyd (Wish you were here): "Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?" Stay Strong, mine real sats, whichever chain your choose to follow.

Now I'm becoming more and more certain that BTC died back in 2017. I think that BCH and XMR are much closer to what BTC should have been, and it isn't in the interest of the establishment for those projects to gain traction. I will watch to see what @LukeDashjr puts out.

Bye bye finite supply, They told a lie, and spirit of BTC did die.

Ignore Jeff Booth, Bitcoin is not going to become less captured and more salvageable as time progresses. He's not stupid, he knows that you have watershed moments. Giacomo pulled the same nonsense with me when BIP110 started. Immediately see subversion for what it is and reject it outright.

Yep, all now closer than you think.
> But I'm going to have to ask you to paint an actual realistic picture of this and break down the economic incentives for not accepting my transactions. No problem, here goes. There's been chatter for several years among Keynesian/economically illiterate Bitcoin developers (most prominently Peter Todd, Pieter Wuille and Andrew Poelstra) expressing worry about the "security budget", i.e. the ability of the Bitcoin network to pay the miners to keep the network running properly. One of the proposals to address this fake problem is taxing users for keeping their UTXOs in the UTXO set. The idea is that when you create a transaction you have to pay extra sats proportional to the age of the UTXOs that are being removed from the UTXO set by that tx. Bitcoin txs don't have any field for the fees. Fees are simply the difference between the numbers annotated in the UTXOs that the tx destroys and the numbers annotated in the UTXOs that the tx is creating. A taxman mining node would simply introduce a new rule that enforces this logic on unconfirmed txs and discards by consensus those that don't pay this base tax. There's no need to introduce any new address type for this, and there's no way to escape the tax. The longer you postpone spending your UTXOs, the higher the tax will be eventually. The economic incentives for mining nodes to activate this malicious soft-fork are self-evident, more fee income = good. The tool that was commonly understood users could rely on to prevent this sort of thing (User Rejected Soft Fork) was shown the other day to be ineffective. Pools can indeed steamroll and kick large parts of the user base from the network with their >90% of hashrate, and the only recourse for URSF nodes will be to revert their URSF rules and go back to the only chain (the tax chain) or hard fork into a shitcoin without taxes. Any questions?

This should have more visibility. My main concerns about running a node are the SCAM/SPAM risk. Reducing the node footprint. @LukeDashr @GrassFedBitcoin - do you see any technical limitations?

This is why we fight. BTC is just a symbol. The spirit of BTC died on Saturday. I'd trust Luke to run the new project and implementation a thousand times more than Gloria Zhao.

I fully accept what happened yesterday. It is sad, I will admit that. But it also feels like a catharsis. BIP-148 is celebrated as Bitcoin Independence Day, because it proved that ordinary users, running nodes in their homes, could force the most powerful mining cartels and corporations in the industry to back down. The users had no hashrate, no exchanges, no lobbyists. They had conviction and they had nodes, and that was enough. BIP-110 ran the same play with the same conviction, a reasoning that was shared by all bitcoiners five years ago (Bitcoin is money and not a grift database), and node support at levels at least comparable to 2017. This time the miners and the corporate layer simply refused to follow. They extended their spam-friendly chain and moved on like nothing happened. Remember yesterday as Bitcoin Dependence Day. What changed between 2017 and 2026? Not the users. They showed up with the same fire. What changed is everything that grew in the years between. ETFs. Treasury companies. Custodians holding millions of coins for people who will never touch a node. Hashrate concentrated into a handful of pools building templates for the whole world. Capture of the governance of the reference implementation resulting in stark philosophical pivot. Those already celebrating Bitcoin Dependence Day are not simply cheering an outcome they won. They are treating evidence that miners and the corporate layer now control Bitcoin as if it were a grand cypherpunk victory, while ridiculing the people who fought for decentralization and for Bitcoin as money. In my opinion, and in my heart, legacy Bitcoin is not what I signed up for. Captured. Centralized. Led by suits. No longer about freedom, sovereignty, or the mission of separating money from state. No longer about the things that made me a ride or die bitcoiner for many years. The fire that originally drew me to Bitcoin is still alive in the node runners who supported BIP-110. I will follow it where it goes. As for legacy Bitcoin, I have no interest in it anymore as a freedom project. In my mind, it is now a stock.

After living through this BIP-110 debacle - I can view all the other forks of bitcoin with a different, potentially more enlightened view.

Anyone know a good $DOG-COIN I can trade my $BCORE coins for? For once that looks like a decent trade...

Interesting to see how Bitcoin Core will continue on seeing as no real people run their nodes 🤷🏻
