Tonight I congratulated Trina Swanson on the Democratic nomination for the 8th District. Thank you to every volunteer who knocked doors, every donor who believed in this campaign, and every voter who gave us a shot. It's been the honor of a lifetime. That fight isn't over. Pete Stauber has spent years voting with corporate donors over the people of this district, and it's on all of us to make sure we send someone to Congress who actually works for us. Onward.

A fun and full GOTV weekend! On Saturday, I knocked doors in Grand Rapids and stopped by the Annual Threshing Show for the best corn around. Yesterday I knocked more than a hundred doors on the Range.

93 workers at Heliene in Mt. Iron just received layoff notices. These permanent job losses at a solar manufacturing plant right here on the Iron Range are causing more economic pain. Teamsters Local 320 in Chisago County have been on strike for 97 days — the longest county worker strike ever in Minnesota. Yesterday we had great meet and greets in Crosby and Brainerd, and I couldn't miss stopping by the Crow Wing County Fair! As always, I heard from people concerned about their healthcare -- from rising costs to harder to access quality care.

We had a great time knocking on doors in Duluth yesterday and speaking to people about the campaign! Thanks to everyone who spent time with us volunteering or speaking to us at their doors about the issues they care about.

Yesterday I joined USW Local 9460 in Duluth at their informational picket, standing with healthcare workers fighting for fair contracts from Essentia Health and Aspirus. I stand with my labor brothers and sisters demanding safe staffing and fair pay. Our Northland healthcare workers show up for us every day — I'll fight every day to make sure they're treated fairly in return.

Pete Stauber and Donald Trump started a war in the Middle East they said they wouldn't start, and now Minnesotans are the ones paying for it. Now, families across our state are dealing with the very real possibility that a hostile foreign government just targeted our drinking water. Pete Stauber had the chance to stand up for Minnesota and rein in this war. He chose not to.

The Trump administration just announced the end of a subsidy program that's kept Medicare Part D premiums stable, a move that's going to spike prescription drug costs for seniors. Seniors on fixed incomes need us doing everything we can to lower their prescription drug prices and give them real stability in their healthcare costs. I will fight like hell in Congress to let Medicare negotiate all prescription drug prices.

Since 2005, 109 rural hospitals have closed. Over the past 5 years, 2 rural hospitals a month have shut down their labor and delivery units. That means fewer rural moms get prenatal care, more moms and babies have complications, and tragically, higher maternal death rates. I'll fight to protect Medicaid and invest in rural hospitals.

Nearly 60 nurses at Hazelden Betty Ford in Center City are on strike right now, after a year of bargaining without progress toward a fair first contract, as well as unsafe working conditions. These are the nurses who show up for our neighbors on their hardest days, offering care and support when it matters most. I stand with the Minnesota Nurses Association on the picket line. When workers ask for safe staffing, fair wages, and a voice in their workplace, we stand with them.

A $10M grant to thin dead, dry forest along the Echo Trail was shovel-ready. Then DOGE stepped in and the work never got done. Now those same woods are on fire after the Sioux Fire jumped the trail.
