Tend to avoid politics but anyone that falls for this nonsense needs a reality check. The government are pulling wool over your eyes. Trans people are NOT the problem.

@Conservatives know what a woman is.   I know the vast majority of hardworking NHS staff and patients do too.   That is why I ordered a reversal of unacceptable changes to the NHS website that erased references to women for conditions such as cervical cancer. #CPC2023

When confidence is low and the crowd already feels uncertain, never underestimate the crowd's willingness and ability to believe anything. When our System 2 thinking is already strained, we'll take resonance over fact at every turn. And social media is a resonance machine.

Objective data don't move markets; stories about objective data do.

Why are conspiracy theories so popular today? In "uncertain times" anything can be truthy enough for us to believe it. It's all about resonance and relevance and a story's fit with our mood.

The patient comes first. You didn’t ask for their opinion—you asked for the Video Laryngoscope. It’s your journey through medicine to bring your best when it seems you’re surrounded by the uninspired and minimally adequate.

Simulation over emphasised in many situations IMHO. it’s fashionable just now. Sometimes simple things can inject enough realism to produce stress inoculation. On point tech skills, team unity, kit standardisation etc frees up a huge amount of bandwidth. Simple often best 👍🏼

To anyone duped by this, read Bad Science by Ben Goldacre
A nightmare substance would be one that, in low doses, protects the heart, but is toxic to the brain. According to research in the last few years, that substance is alcohol… 🍷 tinyurl.com/3kru67hn

The choices we make today reflect the future we imagine is ahead. What we too often forget is that that imagined future is entirely self-generated. Not only do we make it up, but it precisely mirrors our own mood.

Morphine is much more than just a pain reliever. Consider the patient experience of being dosed on either drug, incomparable.

We’ve had reports by our tellers of people being turned away at polling stations for lack of correct ID. That’s just in my constituency so far. Across the country I’m worried this will be significant numbers and far more than the exactly 0 people found guilty of fraud last year.

Constantly telling my students to not punish themselves for feeling anxious, but to master their recovery back to confidence. Confidence allows for faster and more creative decision making.
