Pope Leo greets pilgrims at the Sunday Angelus, his first scheduled event since leaving hospital on Saturday. In his words to pilgrims the Pope spoke of his experience in hospital, saying: "I would like to thank all those who have prayed for me in recent days. I have truly sensed your support. Thank you! I wish to express my particular gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the staff of the Gemelli Hospital. This experience has made me feel particularly close to all those who are living with illness or infirmity. Now that I have overcome this delicate phase, as you know, I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers."

1/8 As I prepare to leave Rome after five remarkable years at @UKinHolySee, a few memories from an extraordinary posting. It began in 2021 with my arrival in Rome and one of my earliest highlights: meeting Pope Francis. Rome and its diplomatic community soon became a second home

This is the moment that a blast wave from a Russian drone strike shattered windows and damaged the doors of Caritas-Spes Ukraine’s humanitarian support center in Odesa on Oct. 10.
Wczoraj wieczorem w Odessie rosyjskie drony uderzyły w budynek Caritas.

Interesting points. Perhaps also worth noting that we now have a pope whose mother tongue is English and a dean of the College of Cardinals whose mother tongue is Tagalog.
Interesting that (a) it's not Card. Parolin, and (b) the Cardinal Bishops have opted to elect the youngest (69 yrs) and shortest-serving (just over 16 months) among them.
