검은 장갑이나 옷을 칠했는데 천인지 가죽인지 구분이 없이 다 똑같은 검정으로 보이는 경우, 이 비교 이미지를 보면 금방 이해돼요.
같은 팔 포즈에 같은 검은 롱 글러브를 천, 라텍스, 가죽, 스판덱스 네 가지 재질로 나눠 칠한 자료네요.
천은 하이라이트 없이 부드러운 명암만 있고, 라텍스는 날카롭고 하얀 하이라이트가 강하게 들어가며, 가죽과 스판덱스는 그 중간쯤의 은은한 반사로 표현돼 있어요.
색은 똑같이 검정이어도 하이라이트가 작고 선명할수록 광택이, 넓고 흐릿할수록 매트한 느낌이 난다고 생각하면 훨씬 쉬워져요.
가죽은 팔꿈치 안쪽과 손목에 두꺼운 주름이 뭉치고 스판덱스는 주름 없이 팔에 딱 붙어 있어서, 재질마다 다른 주름 모양도 같이 확인하면 좋을 것 같네요.
