I wouldn’t mind an arrangement, if he’s even up for it, with Peyton Manning as the Colts team president with a savvy GM under him doing the heavy lifting for football ops.
Let #18 be the face of the org.
Falcons currently have this setup with Matt Ryan and GM Ian Cunningham.

I don’t disagree here, and believe the Colts share equal blame by not providing AR the proper support system and have said as much on the record.
Just saying what I think happened.
I think that was troubling part.
Still wondering whether he & his scouting staff fully evaluated Ryan's 2021 Atlanta tape game-by-game, because I caught just one TNF game that year vs. Pats, and he had 'happy feet' with clearly diminished arm strength. Did they go off just name?
For me, at that time, it was apparent he wasn't the answer.
It was clear to me that he and his staff couldn't evaluate the most important QB position. Their best QB was a grizzled veteran Rivers, and after pinning Wentz on Reich, they brought in a clearly cooked Matt Ryan.
Chris Ballard should've been out in 2023, when the Colts were already bringing in a new HC and had the 4th overall pick for a franchise QB hopeful for a clean break.
However, late Jim Irsay's declining health led to the Irsay daughters keeping Ballard on to lead the HC search.
The Colts sit at 2-4, coming off a loss to a winless Titans team (0-5), who had lost 11 straight in AFC South, with blown halftime lead of 13-0, and franchise legends in house to honor Adam Vinatieri's ROH.
It was as brutal of loss as it gets and clearly showed where we're at.
This Colts change felt inevitable at year-end, but kudos to CIG for staying true to her word that "stakes were never higher" and not wasting time waiting around.
2 playoff appearances, 1 playoff win, & 0 AFC South titles through 10 seasons doesn't cut it. xitter.cf/Colts/status/211217561…
Here's what I think happened here:
-Jones has consistently put in time off-the-field since his arrival, which is why Steichen continues to stick w/ him during these lows.
-AR was not during his prior lows when starting (*that's not to say he's not now).

If the compensation was remotely comparable, Colts should consider doing right by Buckner and sending him back to San Francisco (5-0) to play for contender.
Let him finish his career where it started with a chance to seriously contend for a title again. xitter.cf/UnderdogNFL/status/211…
DeForest Buckner after Colts loss to the Titans, via @RomeovilleKid:
“I’m pissed off too. I’m sick and tired of the same song and dance every year."
I'm stunned this is where Colts are.
NFL GM is prestigious position, there's only 32 of them, and w/big salary, comes decisions that are evaluated in fish bowl.
You get 3-4 years to find success or else.
It's Year 10, and this is the roster, and what we've been building up to?
The talent level of the Colts roster has collectively fallen off, and yes, losing Alec Pierce has hurt the offense's explosive play ability downfield, but he doesn't rush the passer off the edge and play linebacker defensively too.
Why not put in AR for the Hail Mary when Daniel Jones' arm strength can't get it past the goal line?
This loss is rock bottom right now.
Losing to a winless Titans team (0-5) at home with Colts legends in the house for AV's ROH ceremony is simply unacceptable.
Unserious football team. Some heads could roll here.
Nice rebound drive for the Colts offense after that pick.
Capped off by TE Mo Alie-Cox's 1 yard touchdown reception from QB Daniel Jones. Indy gets first points.
Now 7-0 Colts with 11:07 left in 2Q.
No remorse on not retaining Kwity Paye, but not closing the Trey Hendrickson deal before Baltimore jumped in looms large here, especially with Arden Key underwhelming so far.
Pressure % and Time to Pressure
(Edge alignment only | 50+ pass rushes)
Pressures tracked using GPS data from @NextGenStats
For "Building the Trenches," the Colts defense currently ranks 32nd in pass rush win rate (37%) and 32nd in run stop win rate (25%), per ESPN Analytics.
This shows the state of Colts linebackers right now.
Indy tried to move on from Pratt, but the unit has struggled so much, they're reuniting with a familiar face.
Wouldn't be surprising in the least if he eventually starts again for Anarumo's defense.
